52" fronts 56" rears with 39.5's

I thought 56" springs came out of the newer 88-98 trucks?

Whats required to run them in the rear?

A shackle flip and either moving the front hanger forward or the rear hanger further back. Yet again search around a lil bit. There is tons of info on here about spring swaps.

i run 64's in the back of my k5. i moved the front hanger forward so the axle is only 2" back from stock

Just before I paid for my membership I could search. Couldnt go in the lounge and what not, but I do remember running a couple searches. Google is also another good tool.

56s front and rear is the combo I am gonna run... I like how the center pin is offset, so you can play with wheel base a little bit and maintain good approach/departure angles. With a shack flip in the rear and the frame chopped off just behind the flip brackets, you should be able to get close to 90 degree departure angles if you put the "short side" of the spring towards the rear + run big meats.

Cant moving the front axle foward mess with my steering though?

Right now I have a drop pitman arm and stuff. I'll have to look at it. If I do a cross over will I have to take it off?

if u plan to run 52's or 56's its absolutely necessary to run cross-over steering. pay up and search, all of this had been covered to death

I'd rather ask then search

I like to discuss it rather than just kind of understand it

Maybe I'll go with the 4 inch tuff countrys. I don't think I can afford to do cross over just yet.

Thanks I probally will

Thanks everyone for all that you have contributed :waytogo:

On 64" rears would a 2wd truck work?

yeah, dont even think about long springs up front without x-over steering. The whole point of longer springs is to get more droop... which is exactly what stock steering (even with dropped/raised arms) can't handle very well. long springs up front is what you do after you have already upgraded to crossover.

my 52 swap article in the tech section would be a useful source of info.

Yeah I read that

I guess not to closely :doah:

I only have around 700 dollars todo everything ;)

So cross over isn't going to work yet

And while im at, how about putting an 86 front clip on a 73

I took a whole clip of a suburban and have it sitting in my shop

Also got the doors

I think It should bolt on
