64 Vette….Rebuild 2.0

oh what an ugly memory:

Oh yah! Lol. Well ditch the paint job. Solid color, with small wing in the back, stock gmc grill and sidepipes with 5 spoke wheels and some big ole fatties in the back locked 14bff 4.10s with an inch or two of lift in the rear and a stick and BBC powered..... Im exciting myself... Lol. Gawd i wish my van wasnt in such bad shape body wise lol.

And 1993 Vandura 2500 Grill is way cooler than the 70s IMO :thumb:

oh what an ugly memory:
Having seen a few vintage Hot Rod mags from the van era and reading about the "vanner" controversy for a decade in the editorials and reader's comments of said mag I can't say I'm a van fan either.

I will say last May I saw a pretty rockin' van of the right vintage.

Plain white 70's Econoline people mover van without anything too screwy about it, little rake to it, old school side exit dual exhaust with narrow pencil chrome tips, big and littles on what I think were some retro mag rims like yours, and a cigar chomping white haired guy who looked like he remembered the 70's (well, if the van was his then maybe most/some of the 70's).
It was subtle yet well done.:thumb:

coolest van I ever personally seen was a buddy that worked at a Shell station, and he built a 340 short wheel base van...it ran 12's in the 70's...that was pretty dam fast for a van.

got the alignments done today, goes down the road a little straighter now.
Also got the drivers door lock fixed, a few more items, and a day or two of tuning and it'll be ready to go to Power tour.

GM is hosting at the GM Milford proving grounds...this place is cool...lots of new vehicle testing done here...I got to go in there in 1985 with the Nat'l Council Corvette Clubs

Super conductors are the shiznit. Is that a mechanical tach drive? Holy crap. Is the dash all original in that puppy?

The dash and gauges are the originals Heath, they were still in nice shape and only needed cleaning to get them to look like they do.
I really like the dash and gauge layout too. The mechanical tach is super cool and its one of those things I gotta have...something else in there would just be out of place.

Dave, it does look pretty bad@$$ no boubt a dout it. But it would still look pretty bad@$$ with either of these two, and not only would you not need a new cable for your tack, but you could trust it as well!

Plus, you would save money if you didn't have to buy that fancy tach drive dizzy!

Anyway, enough ramlbing, that car is one of the nicest I have ever seen, excellent job with it. I hope you get a DP for it and wake that puppy up.

How much vacuum does your cam make at idle? I am a big fan of vacuum advance on the street, until you get to a point where you don't have enough vacuum to run it, then I'm a big fan of ditching everything and locking the dizzy solid. It's like viagra for your gas pedal, you push the go pedal, the tires go up in smoke.
