6x5.5" wheels and now buying tires thread

Watch those milsurp tires. Some of them are 10+ years old now.

you do know how to read the dot code ?

3 sets of codes . some have dot on both sides but only 1 side has all 3 sets .

last set EX: 2308 = 28th week of 2008 / 1204 =12th week of 2004 . . . . and 3 diget dot last set = OLD 1999 and back .

Why not get a set of black 17" wheels from Summit and paint them white? I've had good luck finding good 37" tires for 17" wheels in the Denver area. First set was $750, second set $800, and the set I have now were $600. Just need to set money aside and then check CL regularly for a month and jump on the good deals when they pop up. Also I think being willing to run an all-terrain type helps.

This had also occurred to me

My wife also said I should just buy new wheels and tire and run them till they are bald, and stop buying used tires every few years.
There's some logic in my enabler...

I've been thinking the same now that I have my alignment set to where I'm not chewing thru front tires every trip to and from Blazer Bash. Fortunately the tires I just mounted are so close to new, they should last a while. It only cost me $85 for my mechanic to check the front end alignment so I've been planning to just have it check every year before driving to Moab.

If you have Firestone around they offer a lifetime alignment it's expensive upfront but they will align your vehicle as often as you need it done , you could take it in after every wheeling trip never have to worry about wearing out tires .

I've Blackrock 937 rims on my burb.
17x8 13mm offset. Clears my Hummer brakes and gives me a nice clean look. Check my "pure chevy sex" thread.
Stuck on my phone right now.

Ramack was talking about wheels, not tires. Therefore your picture is irrelevant.
