'71 K5 Blazer CST "Mean Green"

Don't look at anything, just go with the high school kid mentality and start having fun with it. Otherwise you will just want to fix things and spend money like me where it all has to be perfect before you can get to using it and then all of a sudden it's 9 yrs later and you're like "wtf" I coulda been driving this the whole time.

I don't want it perfect. It'd be nice, but I won't drive it if I make it too nice. I have a nova I hardly drive cause I don't ever want anything to happen to it.

So, is it ever going to come to Tuttle? Or is that a no go?
I'm afraid to off road this one being a covertable. Maybe a roll at would help stiffen it up tho. Whitey on the other hand I'll for sure take there. Just need to focus on it solely and get it done.

Ok, new name? Mean Green Cinnamon Roll?

Just remember that first gen credo. You either peel the onion and remove the rust, or chop it.

There are lots of little pockets of hidden rust on that. Still a nice score.
I wish it was all the olive green color that the inside is. Maybe someday. For now I just want to get it mechanically up to par and just drive it.

Anyone know what the biggest 15" tire is that will fit on stock suspension? No trimming.

I have 33 12.5 r15 and don't have anything trimmed. The corners at the bottom of the arches were bent in a little bit when I bought it though, which might or might not have been done by the previous owner to ensure there were no sharp edges going into the tread when the tires are stuffed. I imagine 35's would be too big unless I went 4" or more lift. As it sits stock, I have had slight rubbing on the interior rear wheel well when I was fully articulated in the back.

I think I'll go with a 33/10.5/15. It has 3.73s factory. Hope it's not a total mutt. It just has a tired 350.

Does anyone make replacements of those plates that are bolted under the front seats near the rockers? Mine are pretty much wasted.

I like it! Cool find! :thumb:

I also like your short term plan for it. :waytogo:
If I tear too deep into it, I'm afraid I'd get burned out and lose interest. Little at a time, I will get it back up to a nice condition.
