'71 K5 Blazer CST "Mean Green"

Very nice find! A little wax sure will shine it up. I was hesitant to do mine but glad I did.

Maybe a good first step would be replace all the lights ;)

Changed oil this morning. Was quite a fight to get the filter off. Guy told me it sat from 1984 til last year. From the look and smell of the oil he clearly never changed it. Wasn't milky or sludged up, just reaked of old fuel and really dark in color. Pulled it outside and took a pic of the waxed fender. Nothing to be proud of, but gives me hope that it'll clean up some.

Also found both bumpers, headlamp bezels, and a tailgate seal on Craigslist. Having my bro pick them up in grand island. Guy lives west of Kearney, and my bro is only 30 mins from grand island so they'll meet there. Saves me some driving. Also @HINZ28 has some side marker lenses for me. See if I can drive this thing to the car wash by this weekend.

Figured I'd tow it to the car wash and clean it up some. A lil ways to go before it's safe enough to drive. Cleaned up decent, and got the crustaceans off the roof top. Not sure that's what they were, only thing that came to mind when I saw the stuff.

The blazer is a pig, and whitey is 2" shorter in the rear. So it really looks like it's squatting.

I suppose it could be worse. The 2" lift difference doesn't help tho. Still want to get 4" front springs for Whitey, and ditch the 6" ones.

more rusty than I would want, but its all there and looks pretty good, nothing some welding and paint wont fix.
For sure. I definitely would like less rust, but at least it isn't something someone else started cutting up or stripping apart. Pretty unmolested. I'd like to replace most of the panels over time. Nothing all at once mainly for cost purposes, but also so I don't tear it apart and loose interest in such a huge job. Being able to work on it, and still drive it is a must for me.
