I got my wheels delivered today!!!! A set of five Spyderlock wheels.

I should be able to post progress on a regular basis now that the baby has been born and the weather is starting to be nice. I have my soft top installed 95% before the this crappy weather so rudely interrupted me. Pics of the new soft top on Sunday with a little luck.

What are you gonna' do with the M/T's?

hehe - "you sure do got a pretty wheel there boy"

I am going to weld up the hole I drilled for the Staun Locks and put them on my 78 Bronco. I hope a forged wheel can take a small plug weld or fill weld.

I'm sure it can, i had some Weld Typhoons that were cracked and sort-of welded. A single plug should be no problem for an experienced welder.

I picked up a 7 pc set of 4130 chromoly dimple dies and 20 ton press today, I am ready to start swiss cheesing everything......

Got a reprieve from the weather so I finished up my soft top install. The top fit great, but the holes in the main rails came nowhere near the factory holes in the bed. I drilled my own three holes per side and that was it.

You could also just throw a valvestem in the extra hole and call it good. No sense welding on the wheel unless you're just dying to make your life harder than it needs to be?? :dunno:

:usaflag:

I will give that route a shot, but it is very close to where the wheel steps down to it's smallest internal diameter so it might be interesting. I like that idea a lot better than getting the spool gun out.

They were a pain in the ass and would not reliably hold air for more than a week, one of them for only two an half days. They were easy to air up off a vehicle, but after they lost enough air they wouldn't air back up on the vehicle. The install went very well and there is only one area I felt I could have improved slightly. Someone will get a real good deal on a basically still new set of five Staun Beadlocks.

Dang.. I just installed my Stauns. I hope mine work out better. I took my time installing them.
You could put a set of Klune rapid air deflators or the powertank monster valves in the extra hole.

The Pro105HD bender is assembled and in it's storage location until needed. I poured some concrete in the back yard so I can bend full 20' pieces without anything getting in the way and so that the bender would start life on a level surface.
