'72 Bluggy: Rocks/ 47s/ LoMax

Crap, then that means I'm really gonna have to take my time doing them right :haha:

Who needs friends with an engine hoist :haha:...all it cost me was a bolt into the butt cheek leaving me a nice gash

Body on but no body mounts yet...

Winter is here! So Get-r-done and be ready for 09 wheeling season
You know your dyin to drive it! :doah:
Have a great weeknd!
Winter? What the hell is that? Our cold fronts drop the temps to the 70s :haha:

A bit more progress done yesterday, fit in the body mounts, trimmed MORE of the floor, used tie-downs to pull the firewall to a 90*, put in the seat and made sure there was enough room, mocked up the rear fender & found I need to trim more, and started on the rear x-member to support the rear of the frame. Jameson and three other guys bullsh!tting with you doesn't get much done :D

Talk about blindspots...seat is gonna have to go up and back a few inches

Must be why your wearing jeans, cause it's cold or something. :p:
We had a 'warm' spell that got up into the upper 60's and everyone was saying how HOT it was and wearing shorts again...

Build looks great, thanks for keeping us updated.

I've grown up, instead of the shorts and sandals, now I wear jeans & boots :haha:

Started building the rear most x-member last week and finished it up last night...it's going to replace the crappy factory x-member...here's the pics for comparison. It's not completely welded in since I had to make time for a few of these...

Glad to see you're making some good progress on the rig.

I think you need to put a grill in that rectangle over your 203 so you can BBQ while you drive. :waytogo:

You know, I'm not normally the guy pointing out things that are wrong (well ok sometimes I am), but are your rear spring plates on upside down for a reason? I'm really not trying to be an a**hole.

I had to go back and look. Those are DIY4X plates...and they are on upside down. What's up with that??

That's all you've guys have noticed that's wrong with it? :doah: No, unfortunately the ubolts I got from ORD were way too long so I had to flip the plates to get enough thread to bolt down the axle. The rear spring perches aren't even welded in yet either, so the rear is not done just yet...still gotta do the brakes as well.

:haha: don't know how many times I've seen that movie

Progress continues...

First, the long tube headers I purchased a while back were going to hang way too low, then my buddy's shorty's weren't going to fit on the passenger side because of frame clearance...so our next move was manifolds. My buddy had an idea tho to use some headers that I acquired off a Landcruiser project...

A bit rusty...
IMG_4150.jpg

But nothing a couple of hours of cleaning can't make look pretty...
IMG_4151.jpg

Bolted in but without much clearance left...

And the motor looking like a motor again...
IMG_4152.jpg

Started the wiring...

And finished up the mount for the propane tanks...

Hope to have the wiring finished up, for the most part, next weekend...and order up a couple of other parts like gauges, brake stuff, etc...the little things.......

Those headers cleaned up really well. Good to see the progress. I had forgotten you were going propane. Pretty cool.

none yet. Haven't had time to work on it. But I just sold my 28' gooseneck so that I can downsize to 18-20' trailer and buy my bender. Already have the bender lined up :D. When I get the bender, I'm seriously considering redoing the x-members. The more I think about it, the more I want to redo them...They're beefy, but I think they can be beefy AND nice looking. Hope to update soon.

cool man. Just found your thread and been reading thru. Stick with it, cuz it definitely sounds like it's going to be pretty badarse

Aww man I got all kinds of excited when I saw this thread had been updated. Looking forward to seeing what you will do next though. :thumb:
