'72 Bluggy: Rocks/ 47s/ LoMax

Looks good. Glad someone is making progress. Rear spring plates are still upside down :D
 
Finished up the back half and have the fenders gutted for the most part...still needs to be fully welded but won't be doing that until I can pull it out of the garage. The notching is about 1000X better, now I don't have any gaps to fill when welding :haha:

After a lot of cutting, notching, fitting, & measuring...I finished all the braces for the back half, built some mounts for the fenders...so hopefully next weekend, I'll take the x-braces on the top and back off, weld in the main hoop and bars, then weld in all the braces...I'm still trying to see if I can adjust the fenders a little, but didn't come out too bad for eyeballing it :haha:

I fell off the wagon. I have not updated. I debated on parting it out & getting some already built. But, I've taken several weeks off & it's doing me no good staring at it in disgust when I walk through the garage. I took a few steps backwards, which is what might have put me over the top as far as frustration goes. I decided to mount my orbital at the dash bar (so pulled off any steering I had already done), I need to redo my gauges since the cluster I had broke, I pulled the entire drivetrain because the damn oil pan on the motor required a longer pickup...but all in all I'm hoping to stick it out. Tonight: Put the D60 back together and get the garage cleaned up again.

Stick with it!!!!! I've been dealing with the same issue's getting my 1 tons prepped for install, now that tons of parts are landing on my door step, it's motivating me to get my a$$ in gear!
 
You'll never hear the end of it if you bail. The texas4x4 guys give you enough grief about never wheeling your junk. Not many of us have made any progress lately, myself included.
 
I try to do at least a few minutes a day minimum. If its just taking a few bolts out or whatever a little progress every day adds up in a hurry.
 
I know it can get overwhelming - it sure did when I was putting mine back together after tearing it completely apart. I learned it was best for me to just focus on one goal at a time and not letting myself get worked up about so much that still had to be done - stick with it and you will be well rewarded the first time it is rolling under it's own power!
 
push it out and wash it a little bit, get it nice and shiny. remember how sexy that drivetrain is.

The drivetrain is sitting on the other side of my garage :mad:...and my front 60 is torn apart...and my driveway is at a slope so I can't pull it out too far...and there's really not much to shine up :crazy:

Edinburg is about 60 miles W of SPI. We're actually headed out there next weekend...the wife's dad rented a condo for the whole summer so we can use it whenever we please :D. You should make a trip down this way anyway...you'd have a place to stay, I'd throw some ribs on the smoker, and take a day out to the East Cut :D

Well, it'd be a long day of driving, especially if I drove my truck, cause she doesn't like doing 70 haha. But, if I can get a job, and they're flexible to let me off one weekend later on in the summer...it's a definite possibility. The beach makes it even more enticing. I love the beach after looking at nothing but pine trees for weeks on end...:D
