In addition, did he make a jig for that motor mount or is that a true one-of-a-kind?

Is it for a BBC? SBC?

Also; excellent excellent pics             !!
yea i think he's going to put it into production very soon. it's going to hold a SB for now, but Kert said it would hold a BB with no problem, but i guess that'll be known for sure when someone tries it or i get ready for TTC :D . thanks.

OK, looks like that cat is out of the bag!

Actually, the prototype is still here. RGV72Blazer, yours is the first one out of the jigs and then it was test fit here again before it went out. Always nice to hear that it fit the way it was supposed to with the way these old chassis vary.

Oh FINE! create a product I could have used LAST YEAR :doah:
Looks cool! I would guess the eye on that x-member is were the engine mount poly goes in and then another bracket (not in pic) bolts to the engine.
COOOL!!!!
Have you tried to remove an oil pan with it inplace yet? Did you leave enough clearance for the pan to drop down far enough or do you have to remove it to drop the pan?
Lookin GOOD!!

Yep, you end up with the more modern type of engine mount. Just like our competion poly mounts but built into the crossmember.

you can't pull the pan with the crossmember in place, however, the crossmember is removable. Something to hold the engine up would still be required though. Hey, can't make it too easy for you. If it was easy everybody be 4 wheelin.

I'll try to get a picture of the whole kit posted up in here tonight.

Very nice! Do the pieces that bolt to the frame slip inside the frame rails, or over the outside?

And all that is $165?

slip inside the frame rails and yep, all that is $165!!

You need to modify your CK5 "Preferences" a bit....this thread is only 2 pages for me. So I guess he's still got plenty of time to finish!!! :D

i do have plenty of time but i want it done already :D

well spent ALL day yesterday drilling holes for the brackets. the rear spring front hanger received grade 8 1/2" bolts, six on each side...this part wasn't too difficult, as there were already stock 3/8" holes...got a lot of help from my buddy Cesar...also drilled the holes for the http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/FUSH.html FUSH...this part was pretty difficult...not the part drilling the 4 holes for each bracket, but getting the large hole for the bushing in the correct spot on BOTH sides. i think we got it right on target and moved the mounting location about 1/2" forward. the only other trouble i had was with the rear spring front hanger bolts, as i had some clearance issues :doah: but took care of that. enjoy the pics. tomorrow, i'll be heading off again to pick up a trailer bright & early, then i'll be going to pick up the 3/16" sheet metal to box with, then i'll be getting my frame, engine xmember, templates, CO2 tank & dragging everything back to where i live now & God willing start cutting and welding.

Don't be a fool. Metal in the eye is no fun, and will definitely slow down your progress....
