72 K5 "About Time". Windshield Header Bow time.

Hehe, yay baby.... I like the attitude. :waytogo:

Hopefully you can keep it up, because that's a sh!t load of tack, tack, swig beer, let cool, tack, tack tack. :haha:

I did a nice photofest of the 4 bolt area and what goes first in somebody's thread within the last year. Made it kinda simple. It might help Joe and you. I'll see if I can find what thread it was. I also put a link to all of VTblazers measurements in that thread. Anybody remember?:dunno:

As far as panels, a word to the wise, stay away from LMC. I ordered a lot from them initially, then had to reorder because they fit like carp and were thin.

I'd stay with Wes at Classicheartbeat, ( who looks like he just became a vendor here) or GMCPAULS. You will be much happier.

Pretty cool you are going all out. Don't get discouraged, and have a lot of adult beverages on hand. :D

Thanks!!! I remember you guys being unhappy with LMC.

I hope I can keep it all up too! If you had the opportunity to ask my wife or any of my oldschool friends, they will tell you that I don't usually give up. They keep saying it will be back on the rd next year!:eek1: But I know better. I said see you in a few years!

You are learning........grasshopper!

That sucks! Hope you got treated quickly!

Yes things are drying up quickly with the meds! Thanks!

Opinions please......should I save and try to sell this rotten hood or take it to the scrap yard? Since I'm headed there in the morning anyway figured I'd add it to the load.

My general rule of thumb is not to throw anything away like that up until the restoration is complete. You never know.... Maybe you'll find a great hood with a damaged hood support that you could have poached from this one... :dunno:

There always is something of value that you can possibly scavenge. I'd keep it unless you are absolutely out of room.

Good start!

A disassembled truck takes up a lot of room, so get a bunch of small Tupperware bins for the bolts you remove, and label each container with tape and a sharpie. Start stacking them up on a shelf...... If you don't have shelves, you should probably build them soon. :waytogo:

The large sheetmetal is a hassle, if you can store it in the rafters or in a basement area you'll have more room to move around the truck.

looks like a typical Joysey 70's vehicle.... :doah:

need to borrow any tools like a blaster and such, holla... :pimp:

Yes definitely eats up space and I am going to get some shelves for myself up. Running out of space quickly! I have a storage unit for some of my business junk so I'll be moving the fenders and hood there for safe keeping.

Appreciate it!!:waytogo:

And yes it has seen it's better days. Especially since the rocker boxes probably had salt in them during sandy. This truck was in a driveway across the street from lemmings marina :eek1:

Ok guys! Here is where your experience and expertise comes into play!

I am ordering all rocker associated panels this week. I figured I would order them now just in case it takes time to get them in! I'm far to excited to have to wait for parts:D

My question to the experienced folk is: Do I order body mounts to help fit the cab support and get things set? Or do I use existing mounts until I am done heating things up?:dunno:

Thanks all!!

Fresh rubber mounts in all locations BEFORE you cut things apart..... No question, no arguements!!!

If you do panel fitting on collapsed or sagging mounts you'll end up shimming like crazy later on when the body mounts get replaced. This is one of those "might as well" moments in case you don't see it sneaking up on you! :haha:

Glad I asked! Might as well get em!!:thumb:

One more while I have your attention....Who should I get the mount kit from? Definitely rubber not poly???:dunno:
