I saw @ashman liked my post. Then I realized we did the same thing. Well maybe our rigs aren't quite as cool as @AgDieseler and @Greg72 . But darn close :haha::haha::haha:
I guess I don't even get mentioned because I'm not in the "cookie club" anymore... And here I was, thinking about offering tow services. Whatever man. Whatever.

A few pics from the weekend..... added some temporary shop lights to help see what's going on in the attic, moved the truck over as far as I could on a cheap set of HF Dollies, and started pulling down the drywall off the ceiling so that it can be reframed, and opened up in the middle for storage (and suspension flex tests!)

Crazy beams overhead for no explicable reason.... :dunno: Even the local contactor was mystified about why all this heavy-duty stuff was installed.

Sleeping comfortably, blocking my workspace completely.....

After a solid day of demo and climbing / tripping over my truck, I had most of the ceiling down...

On to the sidewalls.... and maybe start running some electrical!!! :waytogo:

I wish it was as simple as just chanting that over and over..... unfortunately, there is a lot of REAL work that also needs to happen to make it a reality. :)

Those HF dollies work decent if you grease the bolts and wheels.

Indeed! I did a careful disassembly/reassembly of the casters and greased the center pins and bearing races with Mobil-1 Synthetic grease (because Greg)... they roll nice. Almost TOO nice. My garage floor has a slight slope built in, so having a truck on 4 dollies makes it want to slowly creep toward the garage door and out into the driveway! :yikes: Definitely need to come up with a better way to restrain it while I am pushing it laterally in the garage....

2018.02.02 - UPDATE! - !! GROUNDHOG DAY !!!

I have been advised that it's better if I don't try to do "truck stuff" during the month of January.

Historically, January is bad for me... I had my first broken bone and concussion a couple years back (January 3rd) while in the shop, and over this past weekend I had another "incident" (albeit a much more minor one)... some blood was spilled and this time I had to report to work and explain a big ugly bump and cut on my head.

It was all going so well, really.

The pitiful garage lighting was getting a nice upgrade with 6" can lights around the perimeter of the workspace.

As the installation moved around to the sides, I was approaching the rollup door hardware and tracks up in the ceiling... and I distinctly remember saying the words to myself: "Man, you gotta be careful about those sharp edges... it would hurt like hell to bang into that stuff"....

Then about 5 minutes later, in a rush to get up into position with my next can light fixture I swung my head up and around and put my forehead squarely into the sharp end of that rollup door track!!! OUCH!

This is a photo as of this morning. (Groundhog Day)... It seemed apropros to reflect back on the way that I seem to have these same experiences over-and-over. :haha:

I could send you a hard hat if you like. At work we are supposed to wear them all the time, maybe you should institute a PPE(personal protective equipment) policy for your garage. Hard hat, steel toe boots, safety glasses and hearing protection. And gloves when required.
