I suppose just ONE small carpet wouldn't hurt anything........ right?

Man those lights are nice! I need to make sure to do something similar when we build a house soon.

I resisted LED lighting for a long time, but I have to admit that the quality of light is quite good and no flicker. The power draw is really low (only 12W per fixture) so I can really go overboard with the amount of cans I install.... I've got 16 on that double-bay side around the perimeter, and I'll probably add at least 6 - 8 more up in the roof peak which will fill-in the lighting in the center of the area (once the joists are removed).

I was even toying with the idea of runnning something along the sidewalls (around knee-height) to shine light underneath the truck too.... it would have to be ultra-low profile and probably lower wattage so I didn't constantly blind myself with them while lying on the floor. Might work... needs more consideration.

That water softener really blends in nicely with the tool box and drill press.

“Is that a parts washer?!..... oh it’s full of salt...”

think spray booth ;) i actually love the idea of flush can lights or whatever they are down low on the walls, like 2 or 3' up... just put them on their own switch.... my biggest concern for me would be not covering them up with my machines , tools and such...

I want the same for around my hoist, but have not figured out how to do it. Then again I need to insulate and finish the walls too.

I never thought about lights done like that. I wish I had it by my garage doors, so when they are open you still have light in that area. I love lots of light.

Louvers are the key to low height lighting. I have looked into wall lights low down. To prevent glare I would use a very bright light behind some polished stainless steel louvers. Yes you will lose a ton of light output, but you still gain a fair amount

I typically end up here until about 9PM every night... probably explains a lot about the garage (non) progress.
