I saw a truck just like your(is going to be) in the pick n pull here in Nor Cal. Nice former custom job with the cut cab and top, etc. Alot of work went into it only to be junked at the end. I did get some nice chrome wing windows from it /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

If you knew how little $ I have into every thing you would understand. Also, I dont like air ride's prices, also of thier pieces for these trucks can be had for less. Dont get me wrong, thier quality is up there, but others have the same product for alot less. An ex. is there bag mounts for the front, line, even bags, compressors ect.

Also I am going for a hot rod/ roadster look with a rake to it, so I dont have an interest "yet" in slamming a truck, the rear may get bags, so I can level off the truck though if I want to.

Perfect timming! I needed a front picture of a BBC with PS & Alt mounted so I could figure out were my brackets go and wich ones I am missing, like the lower alt bracket..my dog ate it I guess.....hahahaa

I'm piecing my air kit together for my 1940. On the cheap. my buddies s-10 is on air and it's so much nicer then stock.

damn, body is on, doors are gutted, heater is out, radio, dash , guages, glove box wiring, grommets, gas tank ect...


that is alot of goodies /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have decided to cap the doors and close them up, no more windows or vent windows. I want to rake the windshield back this week and try to get the glass over to a glass shop to be cut, belt sanded and the edge done on it.

today I think I will replace the rockers and start metal work on the doors and shaving too, pics will be up tommarow /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I feel so motivated /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

I think I am going to get a radiator, and throw a drive shaft in and go for a spin, I need to get motivated......

lots of crap on the cab to clean off /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif I am really comming along on the metal work though, cant wait to drive this thing!

just in case any one is wondering the fenders are just sitting in place, thats why they are not lined up /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

I have a dilllima now, I wanty a old school/ new school look on this thing, but I am having to many comprimises!

I test fitted the 95 step side bed, after some torchin..she fit! The only problem is the passenger side of the bed need to be replaced and doing the fiber glass work to repair it would take to much time!


3 weeks to have her done for the show /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

next week I will try to get the body finished, in the pics I tossed on a 67 hood I have, but that means I couldn't use my real nice grill pieces if I went that route... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I also got the windshield frame sleeved with 1 inch tubing, I ran it down, cut a hold in the cowl area and pulled the tubing though, then marked it and cut my angle and welded a plate to it, then on the windshild frame I added a few spot welds to get the rigidness I was looking for!


the next couple of days I will be adding the door poppers, finding parts or repairing my 95 bed. I have just a couple of more holes to fill..moving along very nice!

I cant wait!

It looks like you've got a serious case of A.D.D. going on there!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In all seriousness, mixing a hodgepodge of different years doesn't look right and really seems to be hurting the "coolness" of what that project could be. If you're going to build a "classic" Chevy, then build one!!! That late model bed looks WRONG on there....

If you must....add some newer interior touches to modernize the truck, but leave the classic lines of the truck alone.

YMMV, IMHO, BTDT, ROTFLMAO, etc.
