I have the 1406 performer. I will have to check out some of those videos

The performer series sounds like an economy efficient street carb. I had a street Holly when I first got mine, ran awesome on the street but worked like :poo: on the trail. I don't know about you but EFI is not in the budget for me.
Like Ablack said a q-jet would be a good upgrade, I am happy with my "Thunder series off-road carb".

If your windshield washer pump still works you could put some gas in the resi & use it to make a hillbilly fuel injection. When your climbing up the hill just hit the window wash button, that would be classic. :haha:

I've heard good things about those Holley Truck Avenger carbs too. If you get one of those brand new in the box, I think you would have a good chance of getting it running good. There's also a lot of good info online about tuning and troubleshooting them.

That sounds like something I would do.... :thumb:

Hopefully the gas wouldn't eat through the resevoir and cause a fire or something.:eek1:

Beas, what time do you guys go to bed out there anyway? :D

I work for myself... So, I never sleep.

I will know later this afternoon if I have anything going on this week end.
If not, do you guys want to run for a couple of hours of fun at prairie city or anywhere else close by?
I haven't been off road in 5 years and I just got this sub on 33", not the extreme crawler but I want to see it's limits and shortfalls before I do anything and it would be nicer if I had company.

I'm goin' to PC tomoro morning/afternoon, for my "bachelor party"...
It's more like, the women are busy all day, so I'm goin' wheelin!

I'm tryin' to get Chris to go, and my buddy is comin' after work.
I'm takin' my lil' cousin out there w/ me, and possibly another guy.

As it stands, I'm the only confirmed truck.... That kinda sucks. :doah:

Well maybe I can bridge the gap, until Chris comes.
It doesn't look like I have anything tomorrow and although I have more to do at home than I can finish in a lifetime, but with my wife out of the country now is the time to do these things without feeling guilty.
I don't like to wake up early when it's a day off so maybe mid morning?
I will be in a white suburban with no front bumper.:dunno:
Where will you be?
It's been a while but I still remember some of the features at PC.
call me when you get there and I will let you know my ETA.

Ok so i need some advice.

This is the plan for the cage, with the few additions i need to make.

Im concerned about the area in red.

That is a big area with not much support, or so it seems.
Any thoughts on what to do here?

The bottom of the door bar is going to be tied into my rocker/slider when that gets done.

You know what must be done. Time to run a doorbar straight across at seat level just like the buggys :woot:. Hope you like Dukes of Hazzard

so did some Edelbrock modding today.

Installed off road needle and seat.
Set float level at 5/8inch
Set float drop at 1 1/4 inches
Placed a piece of vacuumn tubing in 2 places in between bowl channel to prevent bowl to bowl transfer.
Made a Fuel bowl vent crossover tube

I got a piece of 1/4in brass tube and bent it into shape, then used some pliers, then a screwdriver to make it the shape of the Weird opening on the bowl vents, then drilled some holes in a non symetrical way. Then finished it off with some jb weld.

My floats were WAAYYYY high when i checked em. Like 1/4 inch. So that should help a ton.

Also im 99% positive in addition to one bowl flooding anonther that i was puking gas out my bowl vents into the carb.

HOPEFULLY this will make a more offroad capable carb.
