Thicker wire works better IMHO. Our welder at work has .035 and I always have to weld stupid thin stuff

Im curious to try the thicker wire...

No autoset on this machine. I tac'd it on 120 volt but I wasn't too happy with that setting. I'll try 240v with the 0.030 I have in it.

I only rep 230.

120 is for hillary voters.

just thinking to myself

you might want to break the motor (or camshaft) in with a carb so you aren't tuning during break in.
though I can't remember if you have a new short block or cam, just thinking out loud, I broke mine in with a carb then switched to the FAST

I've debated on this as well.

Everything is new besides the rotating assembly.

I was thinking I could slap the carb on it but my fuel setup is too much for it. I'd have to reinvent the wheel...

After 2 fitech installs I'm pretty confident I can get it lit. It may have some issues with idle and return to idle but all I need is to get it running and sit at 1800rpms then jump up from there.

It should be interesting lol.

I bought the FiTech throttle cable mount, looks pretty nice but I haven't mounted it yet.

And if you really wanted, you could slap the carb on with one of those $20 inline pumps and run the hose into a gas can. Just a thought....

Damn I didn't even know they made one!

Yeah..I was thinking I'd rather have the vitals on fitech to make any diagnosis.

Provided it confirms fuel pressure and I have spark I should...should be able to light up.

Yeah and like you said, issues, if any are more likely to be idle or something minor that won't prevent you from breaking a cam in.

They say damn sure don't let the cam idle at all.

A friend just broke in a worked bbc with fitech. no issues other than idle problems but I reminded him they test them on small blocks...made a change and hes good to go now.

Lol they would classify me as a terroist.

Anyway, so when you gonna fire this pig? I wanna hear this "cam"

Soon. I thought maybe this weekend. that's still not out of the question but the little odds and ends are killing me right now. one little thing is enough to stop the whole process lol.

Shit I got a baby cam. Should be a great bump from the stock one but it's no thumper.
