73 K20....crossmember time

Mine are the daystar brand that DIY4X sells, I didn't reuse any hardware.

Yeah I just went through the garbage to get my old crap back. Now ive get the sleeves painted. I went from finishing to getting 1 corner done. I cant believe I paid 85 bucks for this. Oh well I guess. It does look good up an extra inch.

Damn ive not seen that post.

From page 10 of this thread.

Normally I would recommend the LMC rubber body mount kit over poly body mounts, but rust probably isn't an issue for you.....

Martin

Nope not much rust out here. Does the poly allow the hardware to rust out easier?

No, the LMC kit comes with all new hardware. The poly kits require you to reuse your old hardware. Around here, the washers and such are all rusted away.

Martin
Ah i see! I think the body lift is on hold. I have too many cans of worms to open at the moment.

Information overload.

I've seen Martin post that a half dozen times at least though

Went back out and put the front driver side body mount together. Finally got it figured out. I need to fix the rear still but thatll happen tomorrow.

How long does it take to re gear a 14 bolt? A day including tear down and install? Im debating on regearing...have to take the front apart anyway...

Seems like i should just do it then. I can get thick gears for my carriers. I also have a spartan for the d60 but the roll pin was seized so it would never come out...

5.13 or 5.38?

I know ive questioned this before. Seems like the 5.38 guys said too tall and 5.13 said we want 5.38.

On a Dana 60 and a 14 bolt the pinion tooth count does not change between 5.13 and 5.38 both add a tooth to the ring gear.
I don't know major and minor diameters but if there is a difference it is very small

Really? Interesting. I knew they couldn't be getting much weaker. There's those sand drag guys pushing 1000hp through these kind of gear ratios.

I found a place on amazon that sells the thick 14s for $170. Motive brand.

Guess I just need to figure out which ratio I want...

Coin flip? :dunno:
