That's what I did. Simple easy easy to be added onto

Exactly! Thanks for the pic!

I thought your plate said "Famous Potholes" when I first looked. :haha:
When is Horton going to run again anyway?

Damn potholes. I pinch flatted a tire last week to one. The ones we have out here are awful. Two near my house will send you into another lane on the freeway. Theres been some cases that people have been killed or seriously injured from them but the state turns a blind eye. Bastards.

Does horton have a build thread?

Im still rolling along. I pulled the wiring harness tonight and worked on the fish plating. I have a 5 day weekend so we'll see if i can get this thing up on axles.

I need to figure out how to adapt this to a quick release hub.

One more small plate to do tomorrow. Im getting better with the mig. Not used to doing long stretches of welds.

My dash is effed. Not sure what ill do about this. Id like to get a diy dash but im not too excited to spend 430 bucks. I do want the cage to go behind the dash so I may just nut up and buy it. Id hate to take the dash out twice.

Another piece to the puzzle. Hoping to slide the rear end under soon.

Once the rear end is under I can turn my attention to the front end. What a crazy amount of work to do!!

Is your *dash* messed up, or just the dash pad? The dash pad comes off in 3 or 4 minutes of work. No biggie to swap in and out as many times as you need. There are a few screws on the passenger side, and the screws that hold the gauge bezel in place (plus 1 or 2 in other locations). It'd take me longer to think through each screw than it would to walk out and yank whole thing.

Would you consider just running the metal dash only? Otherwise, you can do what rdn2blzer do and attach some aluminum to the roll cage. Go tight along the window and add a crossbar where the dash would be. Attach a nice piece of aluminum for your gauges and switched, plus add anything you want to it later

Yeha the pad itself is screwed but the rest is ok. I havent found one any better than mine used and lmc wants $339, that aint gonna happen.

Yeah im curious to see what it looks like below the pad. I cant even read the guages so I may have to replace them. I really only care about voltage, temp and oil. I'll add the other stuff as I go.

Well im done with plating the frame...for now anyway. Ive done the top and sides, need to order some metal to box this part of the frame.

The k5 went off to a good home and will help get another k5 back on the road.

Took the dash pad off. Looks way better! Now I need to pull the whole dash to clean some stuff up and get ready for paint.

Well surprise surprise. Bit of cancer here. Im going to clean the area up some and evaluate what needs to happen. I dont think itll need a whole floor pan..

I scored some 52s this weekend....at least I think they are. They dont quite measure up to 52 but whatever they look good. My next goal is to get the truck up on axles and then ill box the front end in.
