Probably been asked and answered, but rotating the transfer case doesn't do anything to the way it internally lubricates, does it?
To a point. If it really didn't matter we'd be flipping left-handed 241 cases over to fit our right-hand trucks.

I have seen the goofy "w" shaped crossmembers before but every truck I've owed has had the flat style crossmember. I didn't know they were due to different height adapters. I guess I've always just lucked out with the ones I ended up with. Is there a reason behind the two different height adapters?

Nope. Apparently the pump is at the bottom of the case anyways.
An NP208 doesn't have a pump.
An NP241 does.

The tall adapters were used from 1981-1984, the short adapters from 1985-1987('91).

All CUCV's were built as 1984 models.

So can it be run upside down? It's mostly full of oil, right?![]()
Damnit. This whole missing part game is getting really old to me. Turns out there's no pushrod between the hydroboost unit and the master cylinder.
I can't seem to find it either. Gonna check lmc.
PnP more likely. Or you can fab your own ... it's just round rod with sphered ends. I think it's 1/4" OD, but length is of course critical. I'd offer to measure mine, but I think you got the later ('88+?) setup so it won't do any good.

Ohh, the washer is a spring, yeah, holds the rod in place.
If you can't find one @ the PnP, lemme know. I'm moving this weekend, but mid-next week I can pop my master off and measure the pushrod for you.

My uncle has one of those BS pens. He scoops the corral out and dumps all the BS over the fence with the tractor
