You can download CompCams "Camquest" software for free.

I would look at a dual pattern .650-675 intake, and 675-700 exhaust, with 250-260 duration @.050. That would take advantage of the breathing potential of those heads.
 
I was eyeing the compcam solid roller XR292R which is around those specs. needs a 11:1 or better ratio it says.
 
What are you shooting for C.R.?
 
I dont really have a target CR, what ever it has to be, thats what itll be i guess and the true LS6 454s were 11.25:1 as well. I'm not afraid of higher CR and high test fuel.

I don't daily drive it. Its not a dedicated track car. a weekend warrior in the summer. ive maybe made 1000 miles on it in the last 2 years. but I run the snot out of it like all my other vehicles/.


that xr292r is looking pretty good. i'll see what that cam program says before I decide on anything though.

heres a better pic. I don't know why my BB has gone to **** for pics lately. Oh well. It dulled the cam down to a comp cams 280H that should be plenty good for now. It just doesn't have the compression ratio to make good on a big stick.

Fully forged Callies rotating assembly
Fully ARP top and bottom

Confirmed excessive crankshaft endplay. .008 on .004-.005 target.

Confirmed 2 cam lobes wiped out.

Plan for immediate future. Re bearing bottom end. Swap cam and lifters. Find T56 to go behind it. Retire 454 M21 combo. Would like to boost it in the future but KISS method right now to complete the swap.
