I think he has an excellent reason to not put the big block in there. At this point in time, he has a truck to get back together. Until that's done, there's no reason to start another project.

I do have a matching numbers block in the basement! But the biggest reason would be $$$$$ and

You have the wrong frame, and a woman's transmission. There is no reason to not put a big block in that car.

Normally I'd "goat" you into starting a swap on the vette but this time, i'll agree with some of the others. Get the tow rig done!

agreed Kert, I can't tear apart more than one vehicle at a time....the Vette will stay SBC, and AUTO.....for now.

Made an engine cart and a double cab cart for easy manuvering.

Got all wiring, brake cables, body mounts, steering shaft, brake lines, PS hoses all unhooked ready to lift the body off the frame. Need to build a gantry to lift it with now.
Body bolts came out great certainly much different then a Michigan truck

Yes/no.

They're a single piece until you snap the head off or have to cut it off since it's so rusty.

Right AJ....it was such a pleasant surprise to have them all zip right out with the impact....didn't even soak em first!
A couple of them were a bit slow to come off. the only vehicle I've taken apart that was this easy was the Jeepster....it was from CO.

The body ready to remove, just need to build a gantry in the driveway to get the body up in the air...so where is the best spots to lift from each side?
I've considered taking the front doors off and lifting at the hinge pillars in the front/on each side, and then lifting the back of the cab where it mounts to the frame?

If you take the doors off, aren't you running a risk of racking the body (due to the decreased rigidity)?
