The inner cab corners are rusty...haven't picked at them yet, maybe they will clean up ok with a blasting, or maybe they'll get replaced....time will tell on that, otherwise I think everything underneath the cab will be in good shape with a sandblasting and a paint job. the box is questionable on the floor, it looks like its taken some abuse (normal wear really for a one ton pickup that got used) but its dented quite a bit, and rusted/pitted from debris collecting and sitting in it. The front of the box will need replacement as its bowed from the cargo slamming into it.

Now the fun starts! ..... Eh! Lol!

I'm really looking forward to it Dean. I want to get a good day to pressure wash the frame outside, then I'll start working on getting the Cummins drivetrain settled in.

Man I wish I was closer. My bed on the white crew cab is perfect.

It would sure help me get a flatbed built.

Anyone wanna take a bed from Wyoming to Michigan?

Not out of the question, as we will probably be seeing both of you in the next 6 months or so. But that's quite an item to haul! :eek1:

How badly do you want it, @76zimmer?

@kennyw has offered to do similar hauls in the past. But he's coming twice as far, I imagine the cost would be prohibitive.

No no just wishing my time frame and location lined up a bit better. I'm gonna do a flatbed on my crew cab. But I need to get it running first. Dave's is a bit beat up. Mine is not.

actually a couple years away from NEEDING it....the body/paintwork won't get done until late 2017/2018. Mine is beat up and rusty pitted underneath, it could be refurbished, but at the expense of time.
Eric, how cherry is yours? how bout a dozen pics or so?
the plan right now is to try and make BB17. I could pick it up from you then, unless we can get a reasonable transport deal in the meantime.
True.

So did you weigh the body Dave?

No, I really have no idea....I used a floor jack and stacked 2x8's under the reinforced areas of the floor, and or cab mounting areas. It is still a complete cab, full interior, etc.
That is something I can work on getting a weight for it in the future, as I will have it on a rollaround cart and could possibly get it to some scales.

If its a pretty cherry box, fenders and all, I'm interested!

Wait, Zim, are you doing a new bed? I'm confused. I must have missed something.

No just looking at a better option for when the time comes to do body and paint. Mine is a bit "used"!

can you get some real good pics of it Eric? including underneath where the box support rails are?

If Eric has a nice box ,Then you need to have it Dave! :thumb:

I've been working on Colby's Box for weeks and I'm sick of it! :doah:

I really wish is could go to the states and bring back some rust free body parts!

I completely get what your saying Dean....many of us midwesterners and northeasters have to deal with the same issue, foking salt!

much appreciated!

Body cart finished today, nice to have it mobile!
got the shop cleaned out, made room for the body on the storage side of the shop, where the Vette normally slumbers.
Body, engine, trans, and a few other items being stored in one stall, now I can work on the chassis in the working shop side.
Next up pressure washing the chassis and trial fitting the Cummins

a few points I felt were strong enough to use as jack points...these are reinforced "unibody" type frame members welded to the basic body structure.
