76 k5 build thread -- gaps suck

Hey guys im starting a build thread so i can get as much helpful info as i possibly can. i got the truck from my old man. so basically i scored it for free WOOT. buy the time i got it the front floors were gone due to salt water and the doors, quarters, fenders, tailgate, and hood was also shot. it already had a 4 inch lift witch i plan to upgrade the rear blocks to springs. its got a seized 350 4bbl. its got a spicer 12 bolt rear and Dana 44 10 bolt in the front . its got 33x12inch tires in 15 inch classic wagon wheels. this trucks been through the mill and im gonna bring it back to life. the first pick is when my dad had it that's the most complete Ive seen it in a long time. the second 1 is of me on my dads lap that's how long Ive known this truck the third pick is a shot of the undercarriage aka the missing floor pan. and the fourth pick i took 2day that's what im up to.

first thing i decided to do was take the rear bumper off it was prety badly twisted. then i decided to take the cap off so i can get a better look at the quarter. what i found made me wanna puke so the quarter had to go luckily i found a new after market one on ebay for like 60 bucks. so it was off with the quarter. that was a fun few hours. if anybody is wondering about the crapper the truck was a storage shed for about five years. the truck was originally the blue that you see inside the bed and the red seat i got for 50 bucks also from ebay. :k5:

on-board WC! that saves time while working on the truck. no walking in the house, getting caught by magazines, wifes...

good luck! I'll start working on my burb next wednesday.

Greetz from berlin/germany::::ben:::::

i got some picks of the tranie and transfer case from the suburban and i also got my wheels and tires apart today so i can get the rims sandblasted at work. i wish i can afford new wheels but since im on a bit of a budget the wagon wheels will do just fine. i think they look kinda rugged. :k5:

The burb is an '84 K20 silverado, Diesel. The motor is the smothes 6.2l i ever seen around. I dunno the total milage so far, but i use it as DD, take it to the mountains in winter holiday, it never let me down so far. I love it.
As for the cowl grill and the lower grill, thanks no need in the moment.

Keep the rims, match em in body color. i like that kind of classic look.

keep it on::::::::::::::ben:::::::::::::::

im thinking of making a radio pod with a 87 Monte Carlo ss face plate that i can also put a switch panel i would probly mount it under the dash board on the trannie hump what do you all think of the idea :k5::usaflag:

This is going to be a good read, i love seeing blazer's/old Chevy truck's being raised from the dead.

LOL hope you have loooong arms when you want to change the channel...:doah:
I want to move mine up to the a/c or a/c vent hole. A/c and heat dont work, so it wont matter if I use those holes.

the only thing is that when you put a cd player in the dash on the Chevy trucks it always seems to overhang it just that much

so i was working on the hood over the weekend i got it from ebay for 31 bucks. cant beat that. an after market co was selling it as a damaged part it had a few small dents in it woopie. so i spent some time on it this weekend and between my girlfriend and mothers day i didint get it quite finished but its almost there here is what it looks like now.
