VR10? Why not a 12?
The price, and I looked at what other guys were using with similar rigs. A VR12 would be nice but I’ll be surprised if I really even use this much. I’ve never had a winch and the only time I’ve been on the hook was with a j*** on the other end. Lol

Fair. I was just figuring that your rig will be fat and you might need a 12 or bigger.

Yeah it’s definitely a little tubby. Lol
It was actually fairly light when I started with it but I’ve thrown a lot of cast iron into it. It weighed right under 5k with a TH400 and a big block. Now it has a NV4500, 203/205, a 60, 40s and two more spring packs. Oh and my bed.... forgot about that. So yeah it probably weighs around 7k after removal of some stuff, and adding some other stuff. I know the crossmember and all the front suspension components that came out were heavy, so I don’t think I added much if any weight in that area. Then ditching the iron heads and intake helped out a little. Now I’m really curious to see what it does weigh!

Just plan on trying to snatch block the truck. My 12k can really be worked when youre in a bad spot. It dont like it sometimes.
I better get a snatch block soon... I should have asked him to find out for sure, but I think @Stephen is running the same one on his K30? I guess one way to look at it is I’ve been wheeling for 20+ years without one, so hopefully it’ll just help the situation that I would be in anyway? lol and the 20+ years is not bragging. Just saying I’ve been lucky.

I wouldn't be worried about having a winch that isn't as big as possible. Like you have already planned, get more accessories and it will do great. I would bet that you won't use the winch much, and then it may be just to assist the truck. I am going to use my little 8K Warn, since I have it and no money invested. But I spent lots of time in my old career, testing the capabilities of winches. Lol! We knew how to stall out 40 ton hydraulic winches, single line.
:haha:

Sweet setup. I think your 10k should be fine. I've pulled a few things I probably shouldn't have with my 9k warn and it did ok. I think the difference is warn probably under-rated what they are capable of. Reason I say that is I've seen some Chinese winches rated higher than mine stuggle and then I hook up to it and my warn just does it's thing.

I'm not saying always overload it, but it's probably going to handle your truck if you need to. Worst case snatch block it.

Today hasn’t been all that productive, but I did get my frame beef welded on. Idk what I was thinking when I ordered this??? Originally I was going to get it from Diy4x along with some tabs and fab parts, but I dropped the ball on that one.... this one is from rough country off of eBay and it’s kinda meh.... I think part of the issue is that my truck was 2wd in the beginning? Haven’t compared frames too much.

And @Bent77 said he really liked this one so I figured I would post it in here too...

Do you know what kind of table he has? Cut quality looks really good.
I looked but I can’t remember now? I’ll find out. I know it’s a hypertherm torch but I’ll have to ask about the table.

Here’s a fun fact that I didn’t think of earlier....
I bought this truck from the guy that’s cutting my stuff for me!
