better off building your own crossmember, the factory ones are weak and crack.

Agreed, I did this back when I was younger and dumber with no internet for CK5 access.
I hope I can at least use the 4wd motor mount brackets in some fashion.
I don't see why you couldn't use the pedestals, it's the crossmember itself that's prone to failure.
Got my engine crossmember finished up, but in the process of putting a new spool in my welder I managed to break the lense in my $300 Jackson welding helmet. It was still working other than a dark blob in the upper right corner, and then it went to full time dark, and then it wouldn't turn on. MAJOR SUCK.... 
Really a bummer because my wife bought it for me for Father's Day a few years back. So when I was looking for a replacement cartridge I decided to take a chance on a cheap one. It's going to suck with the smaller lense but I'll live. Interested to see how good a $25.00 helmet works.

Thanks! It has its flaws but after I paint it black and bolt it in NOBODY will ever see them. Lol
at least paint can hide the flaws. As well as my F150's crossmember has held up I'm still not happy with it, maybe I should add more paint lol
The big block and Dana 60 should take the focus off of it.
No. You will forever remember all of the flaws, individually and with names assigned to each one. And they will haunt you for the rest of your life.

Of course it's cold! I live in Wisconsin. A very cold state, in case you didn't realize it. We eat sub-zero weather for breakfast. If we can get the milk unthawed, that is. Otherwise we just munch on polar bears and seal blubber. We set up a regular commuter road on top of the frozen Wisconsin river. Because life is just too short to drive all the way over to the bridge, we'll just drive straight across. We like our cold weather so much that one of our local industries carries the name "Sub-Zero." A few miles North of here is home to Boss Snowplow, and Milwaukee is home to Western. That's how cold we are in Wisconsin. I could go on and on.
Given the above, my cold reply seems entirely appropriate.
