77 C20 hauler to crawler

Haha! Boat interiory... :haha: I can see that. It looks pretty hideous right now but the noise reduction is already noticeable. My wife and I were talking while we were painting it on and it went from sounding like we were talking in a 77 c20 to more like talking in an 81 c20. Lol

I was looking at my ps pump and alternator and noticed that they are way out of alignment. Then I remembered I have a junk 454 with all the serpentine pulleys. Anyone have anything bad to say about the serpentine system on an 89ish big block? Either way I'm going to do something to fix it. Is this a good idea?

I remember one time before CK5 I converted the 92 350 that I swapped into my 79 K15 over to V belt. I almost feel bad even saying that on here.

Go Serp you won't regret it

Lol wuhhhhh???
I indeed acquired a 1990 version of a Chevrolet built 350 cubic inch displacement or 5.7 litre displacement V8 engine. This 1990 shares the same basic architecture as the 1979 350 cubic inch displacement V8 already in my possession.

Having both versions of 350 C.I.D. engine out of their respective engine compartments, it was readily apparent that the newer and better belt drive could easily be adapted to use on the older engine.

Having adapted said newer belt drive to the older engine, I can confidently say that it was a wise choice and have not regretted the decision in any way.

Ok I gotcha now! The "wish I hadn't" threw me off.

Vote for Serp. The late 80's big block setup is probably using stamped steel brackets. Not as good as the later aluminum brackets but as long as you have all the support struts you should be ok. Still better than v-belts.
