I'll throw in a counter vote. Serpentine belts suck, the whole setup is trash. You should throw it in a box and mail it to Wisconsin so you don't hafta deal with those stamped steel brackets.

I will make sure they're braced up! Thanks for the input. I can't remember for sure but they might be cast steel brackets? I have so much stuff laying around I can't remember what I have...Vote for Serp. The late 80's big block setup is probably using stamped steel brackets. Not as good as the later aluminum brackets but as long as you have all the support struts you should be ok. Still better than v-belts.

Yeah, last I heard your stuff is all oil burners. Had not seen you picked up a fat block. So if you have not picked up a BBC I'm pretty sure the serp setup won't fit the 6.2's you are used too. About the only thing common to the BBC (beside the bellhousing flange) is that 6.5L works out to 396 cubes. Pretty special number in BBC lore.

Not much noticeable progress. I thought I posted some pics but I guess not? Did a bunch of wiring in the engine bay and under the dash. It was a mess when I got the truck and I just slapped it together to make it work. That was on my list of things that needed to be fixed. I'll get pics of the wiring later. Here is the status of the interior. Almost ordered carpet for it last Friday but the "sale" I found was one of those not so great deals with hidden charges that popped up when you are ready to check out. I need to order some parts (carpet, fuel pump and lines, driveshaft stuff...) but it probably won't happen until after the first of the year.Bump from Kansas...
Thanks! I hope I can reach them!I still like the shifters.
