Got a second notice from Summit today notifying me their radiator was still backordered. I'm done with em....I ordered this unit from JEGS today along with some poly radiator mounts.
This unit is a few inches wider and rated for BB use. The Summit unit didn't specify BB, only SB. This core looks to be about 1" wider, than the Summit unit.
So hopefully we can get a new radiator in it next week, and fire it up.

Today I went to get my Windstar fans and a windshield from Jesse (jekquistk5) and talked him out of one of his old Swampers for a spare, and he took me for a ride in this badass machine: 2001 ZO6 Vette....this thing flat out hauls ass.

Jess also has a very cool Golden Retriever, that was happy to see me.

On the way home I ran across this BBC/TH350/205/10bolts equipped Gem:

"I WUB WU!"

yes she was, unfortunately she was hit by a car in the afternoon and is no longer with us :( Sad day.

Holy crap Jess...really sorry to hear that man. She was a great dog to have met and played with. I'm sorry for your loss brother.

I want to post up asking if anyone has bought the Summit brand Aluminum radiator that fits our trucks....Looking for a comparison here. I recieved my Jegs brand unit today, and it is made by Northern, which I believe Paul said made the Summit brand also. This particular one is listed in Jegs as an "A body, and 73-87 C/K applications including BBC's". Their dimensions are slightly larger than the Summit dimensions and I just wondered if in fact these are 2 different radiators.
I'll post up some pics tonight when I get back home.

yup, stamped "NORTHERN, made in USA" right on the side of the tank...

Paul, is there any #'s on it, and can you take a core dimension of it without much hassle?

stickered part # 9607P

core 2" x 18" H X 26" W (31" overall)

THANKS Paul....I'll post up my specs/pics tonight when I get home.

oh, and that's no tranny cooler... thus why I'll be selling it.... getting the same exact rad with a cooler...

I got thinking the same thing, and made sure to get one with the cooler hookup too. With the BeCool cheaper unit, it doesn't have one, and it would be a good thing to have in the winter months.

yup, i was just being lazy.. didn't wanna do the extra plumbing... i'm convinced running around with it at 100 degrees during the winter aided in it's demise... probably didn't burn any condensation off for like 3 months...

stickered part # 9607P

core 2" x 18" H X 26" W (31" overall)

The above unit is the Summit unit that Paul has for his 87K5 (for sale too)

Here is the Jegs (Northern) unit I ordered. Cost was 349 +

the Northern part # is 5026P This one is listed for A body, and 73-87 C/K trucks including BBC applications. It is a little bigger than the one listed above, justifying (or not) the extra 60$ price?

core is 2.25T x 28.25W x 18H with an overall 33W x 18.625H not including the filler neck. It has dual 1" tubes.

The inlet (top) is dual sized for 1.375/1.5 hoses, and the outlet (bottom) is 1.625. The OEM style hoses I picked up for a 77K5 are what you see in the pics, and they fit like factory. I think I need to make a spacer block to lift the radiator about 1" to fill in the opening of the rad. support. I'll have to check the top plate to see how it fits. Comparing the old 77 radiator to this new one, you can see about 1.5" shorter in Height. Looks like a real nice piece though.
