Another road trip....Heading out for Kerts place on Thursday. Will be stopping at Rick Shady's place in Clinton, to borrow him some exh. manifolds and see if we can find a bull to shoot, then off for Waterloo. Heading to Kerts Friday AM to pick up my beadlocks, tube doors, fender emblems, coat rack, Hydro assist kit, D60 cover, and make some skidplates. Would be nice if gas fell to $3 overnight tomorrow...:pimp:

Jeebus, you trying to keep him in business all by yourself?!:haha:

hahaha, been working on getting most of this stuff since Moab last year....found out I NEED(wink, wink) most of it....
Tube doors, just never got them done.
Hydro assist...after playing in the rocks and not turning, and the deathwobble, figured the HA would be a necessity.
The 16.5's I got, I just didn't feel comfortable about airing down to get a nice wide footprint...so beadlocks coming for that!
The other things are just some custom stuff I had Kert do, after getting to see what his plasma table can do. I know he put some time in the design and execution, but man that table is slick. I can't imagine how deep in debt I would become if I lived much closer to him.

Dang, this is a crazy time for me. I'm Trying to sell crop insurance for the whole year in the next 2 weeks along with my usual work, so I can't take anytime to meet you, but you will be close.

Well it sounds like your truck is gonna get a whole lot sweeter in a matter of a weekend here! Awesome:bow:

I'll be hooking up with Rick Thurs in Clinton, then headed to Waterloo, where you at Trea? Is your truck put up for the winter?

yeah, I been waitin' on these parts for a while...Kert and I been scheming about this road trip, so instead of paying shipping....although with the gas the way its been going shipping would have been much cheaper I think, Ima gonna pic em up, and have a beer.:waytogo:

I like where your head's at:waytogo: Can't wait until I can say shipping would be cheaper! (though I think you're right in this case for both of us).

I live about a 3/4 of a mile north of HWY 20 Just west of Dubuque, and I work about 50-60 miles north of Rick. He stopped at my work last fall to do some work on my Blazer. The blazer has been parked for a couple of months but I've been pushing my local mechanic to swap out my wheelcair lock down when he has some space to get at it. I want to be driving it soon but my suburban locks me in different so I need to change the Blazer locking mechanism. I can't wait my nephew is the only one to drive it since the tranny rebuild. :doah:

Tony

No invite dude? Lol:whistle:

:haha: I would love to jump in the Blazer and head to Clinton and meet up with Rick and Zim, bUt work is a little stressful now. What kind of timeline and what route are you taking to Waterloo, Zim? I'd really like to meet some of you guys face to face if not now some day when the blazers running and I can actual drive it :waytogo:.

Tony, I think I was going from Ricks across 30 to Cedar Rapids, and up to Waterloo. But I'm flexible, could possibly take 61 up to Dubuque, then 20 to Waterloo?...it would be thurs night I'm in waterloo, then headed to Kerts on Fri am. I will be coming back Monday sometime, and crashing somewhere in IA or western Ill Mon night, but need to swing by Ricks again, so I could come through your area then also. any of that work?

In addition, Expedia calls me last night, I made a reservation for a motel in Waterloo...they were overbooked, so Expedia wants to find me another motel....I get upgraded from a 2 star to a 3 star with 4.5/5 for reviews (Hampton Inn) and they give me a credit voucher for $100 on my Expedia acct. and a $25 refund on my debit card....SWEET!

I gotta work till 4pm monday but I can make arrangements for someone to be around before then if you'll be here sooner:thumb:

The belly pan will cover from the rear of the doubler, to the torque convertor cover...I need to make a crossmember for the front of it still. That will be a trick as it has to bolt onto the bottom of the frame rails where they start to kickup for the front axle, and then come back to the rear of the engine pan, up over the headers, then down below the pan....should be fun.

Sorry for the difficult idea :haha:.

I think I did that to ryoken too....... I figure I'll leave all the hard fab work to the guys that can pull it off while I just throw out impossible ideas:whistle:.

Templates look good, cant wait to see it all bent up and welded :waytogo: .

we like challenges... ;)

sometimes even when your doing crazy fab and mods, ya still end up compromising/f*cking up... I know on mine, I made a mistake with floor height.. if I wasn't lazy with the seat cage bars (going straight across), I could have had the floor up another 1 1/2" or so, and flatbellied off the frame... but my x-member sits about that far below the rails...

I plan on just running mine on the x-member, not as good, but it's some protection...
