You being a fellow Bears fan I'm surprised you are even considering green and yellow. You going to put a big "P" in the middle of the wheels Dave? :dunno::waytogo:

I am going to throw a wrench into the mix and say that, although I do like green, (my daily driver is a hunter green trailblazer), I think that the ryoken green looks like someone puked on your blazer, literally. (No offense to you at all Paul, It's a great primer) It does look better than I would expect it too, but there are still a lot of other colors I would pick before that, it's like someone forgot to amputate it's infected tire before the gang green spread over the whole rig.

The black and yellow looks tough, makes me wonder if the Iron Maiden is going to turn into a walking machine to fight the decepticons, but look good doing it either way.

Although I am starting to feel like the maiden is becoming a collage of random colors, with the cool gray, light tan, black, rusty orange, gang green, and now yellow. But, it doesn't really matter what I think, all that matters is what you think, I think it will be a bad @$$ K5 no matter what color you paint it. Paint it pink and it's still awesome.:woot:

I'm boring, I just paint everything under the body flat black.

I agree with folkenheath, the green and yellow on the rim looks like puke. that said, I really like the green on the overall truck.

I think the yellow with black looks pretty decent, but I'd like to see a pic of the rim sitting next to the truck to be sure it fit together with the rest of it.

after seeing the yellow and grey together in this pic, would you consider those 2 colors for the rims? looks pretty good to me.

I like the black, but can you get a pic next to your truck?

Yep, I'll even throw a tire on it...tomorrow

Fock me running, there is no way I can go Green on the wheels now....I hate them fockin' packers...and comparing the black pic to the green pic, I'm going black with the wheels.

As far as the rest of the truck, I like the green on it, and it will stay, not because its already there, I'm going to have some paint matched and then do a satin clear over it. It is a frankenstein lookin truck right now, maybe that is what is appealing to some...for me it just seems to work for this truck....now for the dually, no way.
As far as puke, well, next time we wheel together maybe I'll forget to turn on my fans, and let is piss/puke on your K5 out the overflow bottle:haha:Then you can enjoy some green on yours too!

Can you say you've never seen another truck the color of yours?????
I didn't think so.:thumb:

I know I'm throwing another color into the mix here, but at least its not typical "chassis black" on everything.

I'm kinda shooting from the hip here, thats why I'm soliciting ideas, and opinions, some I like, some I may not, but...it may all change again down the road again too, cuz I don't have enough to do????

What is its name?

What colors go with that name ?

Twinkie, tan on the outside white in the middle you know what my truck is getting painted.

agree with you on that. I'm going with new ford grey on my chassis stuff. just wanted something different than black. plus, I wanted something that would show leaks better so I can get to them before its a huge mess.

What is its name? ummm, I got this...hold on................yeah Iron Maiden.:D

your gonna paint?

The black ring with the Cat yellow looks really good. :waytogo:
:thumb: Ding ding ding, we have a winner!

Ok, now I feel confident I can keep it again....I was on the fence for a bit there..

My Vette is all chassis black underneath (cept where its supposed to be bare glass) and it looks good but shows everything too....not exactly fun when its time to clean it. I wanted a relatively stock look under there, but that has changed some now too.
for the Maiden, I like the Machinery Grey of the axles, but they look bland now, the frame color would have been a better choice for most everything, but I didnt' feel like prepping and painting everything with a gun...I ground off the paint on the rear axle like 3 times already....just easier to touch up with a rattle can, and honestly I ain't cleaning it under there either.

yeah, part of the reason I picked the ford grey was because it is available in a rattle can, and in high temp so I can use it on anything I want, and touch it up easily. :P

Looking hot, Dave :thumb:

Personally I like the Black on black look but that Cat yellow adds a cool touch, I might have to give kert a call and see what a set of recentered back halfs would cost, those would look sweet with my rock rings:

Yeah, they got no set colors so that's really not going to work, so umm good luck with that Dave

You could always rename it

I guess I missed the form that said I had to have your approval....:thumb:

It was on the owners form when you bought the Blazer, hence the Blazer and my last name I have to approve all changes :doah: :D

I would stick to the Maiden theme and find a album and go with those colors. The green and yellow do look like Packers colors. So not sure you want to go that direction.

But you could go with green and black and silver, that would be ok :woot:

dam I forgot about your royalties....check is in the mail.

Dave,

You gotta do what you like color wise......

I will say that the addition of the yellow seems to be causing all the issues here.

You could try a few different black/ dark grey / light grey combos underneath if you want to have some variety. Topside, you might want to experiment with a desert tan, or maybe even a second green color.....either a couple shades lighter or darker than the Ryoken green. The yellow would have to be in VERY small quantities (IMHO) like a pinstripe or very small accents to prevent it from overpowering the main color.

Just my $.02.

I can see where to some (maybe many) the colors (and myself) are getting to be a bit out of control...I will limit the CAT yellow to the wheels and the front hydroboost for now, generally underneath and the wheel centers...I do like the RAPC green pretty well though for the body, and will probably either leave it all green, or maybe a hemi orange subtle stripe (1/2") down the side to bring the cage color into the green.
Maybe when this thing gets a decent body, or at least a body off makeover/quarter replacement I'll tame it down more then. I'll have sometime in it to see what I really like...Depends on what I feel like at the time...one thing, good or bad it gets noticed:haha:

Here is a 38 tire thrown on the rim and setting on the truck for a quick reference of how it looks...the green on the rims will all be black.

I hadn't looked at a recent photo of your truck in a while....

The orange mottled color of the cage is a natural color complement to the green, and honestly it might be easier to simply pull down the lighter of those two oranges into the wheel instead of introducing the yellow down there.

You've also got a couple of nice greys in the seat cushion / plastic trim area that you could repeat underneath in the frame area and suspension parts.

Generally, a color design is best when it's limited to around 3 colors max.... otherwise it tends to lose cohesiveness. I'd stick with the green / orange (and variants) and black (and variants).... as I think those already are looking really good together on your truck.
