The bottom side of the truck is all buttoned up, the trans is working again!

Mount tires/alum wheels
Replace PS pump….flush PS system
Fix 205 front output rattle...DONE???

Got a spare PS pump from my parts bin, will try that, but also ordered a rebuilt at Oreilly's...need to press on the pulley and then ready to reinstall that tomorrow...checking things off the list!

got the 3" wheelstuds installed today..providing the same interference spline engagement as the factory GM studs do, just 1/2" longer to provide better thread engagement on the lugnuts.
Feels tight now, no more slop in the setup.

Also ordered a new 82 K5 diesel PS pump which comes with a new reservoir and filter to install...should be here Tues...hopefully that will be about the end of the list to do before loading up.

got the tires mounted to the rims today...used the starting fluid and lighter trick, followed by a quick blast of air in the valve stem (with core removed)
Note to self, don't put your finger over the valve stem hole...its HOT!

Picked up the new PS pump on the way to work tonight, hope to get time to put that on tomorrow, and bleed the system, then its on to extra curricular stuff...

New PS pump on and all hooked up, tomorrow I'll bleed the PS system and check the trans operation as well, then its little items that don't necessarily NEED to be done to run the dunes.:waytogo:

I ended up with this rebuilt pump from OReilly's lifetime warranty with a new reservoir as well. exact match for the one I took off the truck.

Checking em off!
Got the PS system bled out this AM, and the t/c filled...Made this handy lubetank to fill axles/transfers, whatever...those hard to get to fill points are a breeze with this can...Kert welded some threaded bungs on it for me, and the a few valves and fittings, a few feet of hose...works awesomer!
Oh and check out that D60 axle saddle...man that thing works good!
Going to put the big tires on it, then time for a test run out back!

Nice front bumper. I have one just like that from Blazen Off Road. The rest of my truck isn't nearly as cool as yours though. :thumb:

I believe mine is from Blazen as well, I bought it used.

Here is the Maiden I know and love!

Transmission shifts are delayed, but it works...will have to look into that further when I get back home with it....

looking ay that pic Dave, i think the maiden would look awesomer than it does now if you painted the tube in your doors to match the cage and then did the back bumper n sliders in the same black as the front bumper:waytogo: nice to see it useable again:thumb:

77.k5 the ironmaiden build: 07/23..prepping for hillbilly dunefest

It's either a bad vacuum modulator or it's not getting enough vac. It needs like 20 inches of vacuum to operate properly. Mine was doing that this weekend and I found a bad vac hose. It was only getting 5" of vac to the modulator, so it would shift okay but not as good as possible.

If the modulator is totally bad or unhooked, the truck will go up to about 55 before it shifts into third.

good talking with ya Dean!!! Leaving tomorrow early afternoon!

Full Manual Valve body

Nailed it Rick, one day I will get paint on it!

Bring a few rattle cans with you to the dunes. I'm sure there will be a few helpful drunk friends who'd be happy to spray those parts for you! :haha:

Nice punch list Zim, good job staying focused and knocking it out. :waytogo:
