78 sub build (sub is gone)

test run went good it was the maiden voyage for everyhting really the new font lift, body lift ,motor, and rear suspension, drive shaft, shocks so on. I got it air born a couple times and landing was soft and nice about 3 foot of air im guessing also soaked up woops with no complaints. The only problem was on long runs at steep hills it would slip and throw the fan belt. The lower pulley has a dent making it wobble a bit i think this is whats causing it. I also need to install the windstar fans i have had for 6 months already made the brakets just being lazy. All things considered it worked well with no problems except the belt which i made last all weekend just took it a little easier. This was probably a blessing since the motor only has a couple houndred miles on it.

I need to start looking in the truck tech forum more! This is awesome! You have done so much that I am going to steal for myself! The bedside idea is amazing.

What size fuel tank did you end up useing? The 32 gallon?

Grea work man!

How did you get the new truck wheel wells to stay in? did they just bolt up to some existing points?

Thanks for the props.
The inner fenders are bolted to the original bolt holes of the floor and quarter panels there is not one piece weled, worked great.
I unbolted every part of the bed before i started hacking it up the walls or sides fron floor wells so on then laid out the plan and went to it.
the tank size is the smaller not the 40 so the 32 or 28 un sure of the size it was original to the truck.

ya i put wind star fans on it and thats about the only update, I reversed the shakle flip wich leveled it out better but gave me a bad shakle angle so im going to change it for a 2.5 shakle flip and fliping it back around. Been wheeling it alot this year and it has been working awsome.
Except for at tds where i bent the frame im taking it to a frame shop tommorow to find out if im keeping it fixing it and so on.
I might be building a first gen 4 door on a long bed frame shshshsh dont want to let the old rig here she might be replaced

Back the F up......I want to hear about the WINDSTAR fans!!!!! With pics Asshole!

Definitely come over to the DARKSIDE; topless is better!

I just wanted to post with the other topless burbs

put in a cage, the bodys dont last too long without the back attached

nothing special dual electrics been done here a bunch ill take some pics been done since november no issues.

went to the frame shop they wanted 65 dollars to tell me its bent.. I told them i know its bent so they want 350 to put it on a rack and set it up goes up frome there so maybe next week ill drop it off.

Been thinking about the top for a while but i still street drive this rig in rain snow and so on so its a little hard to justify the top.I also park and leave it shopping so forth dont want it to easy to walk away. But those days are about gone im almost ready. I did a cheasy paint drawing pic ill post it. I am or was shopping for a bender and welder and then let the mayham begin the frame is putting a damper on that right now.

This was an old pic before the lift change in front and axle move in rear ineed to take a new pic and play around with it plan on getting rid of more overhang maybe link the rear.

Sweet crossmember!:eek1: That looks like a great setup with the track bar mount and removeable center section.

Ya you can get it with or with out track bar.

And sb center if you change to bb or diesel you only have to remove and replace center.

Was also thinking if you needed to replace oil pan gasket or something in the motor nice to have it removable to make room. Way easier to work on then than the stock cross member.

thats a badass crossmember matt. i'll come by tomorrow, so i can copy it.:D

just out of curiosity, why do they make a different crossmember for SB and BB? wouldn't the BB crossmember work for both?

yes it would work for both the bb one is just deeper for the oil pan i thought the same, just make them all bb but i guess you loose a little bit of clerance to the axle.
