79 Blazer with a few modifications
Then through the firewall and up to a core support for the tilt front, with some shock mounts along the way?

Personally even tho I'm a pickup guy I like the family cage look better.
Yeah, I don’t have a back seat or a family to put back there, so I’m conflicted

Don't you plan for a bikini top or something like that? The further back it goes, the more your cargo is out of the rain or sun. A soft top frame could be a way lower level of strong, but having the option for passengers in your grin-mobile is something to think about and it's better to have simple all-inclusive plan than some add-ons. I'm sure you've thought about these things 100x more than your readers here, but part of what we do is just field out ideas.

All good points and I appreciate the feedback. With the fuel cell in the back I killed the passenger idea off unless it’s a military style jump seat or standing up holding on to the rollbar mad max style lol.

I like the thought that @Blue85 has with extending the shade. The old K5 that i had only had a front cage. Getting more shade for my neck when the sun was low or the truck nosed down was a trick to achieve without blocking rear view.

Revised truck style and this is the design me and my wife both like. She says it looks like the old blazer we had. The old blazer only had one b-pillar hoop and this one will have 2. The door bar will pivot up and have a double acting latch and a gas strut to hold it up. Seats will be on a removable cradle attached to the cage and every point tied into the frame.

What a calamity of a week 7 really small injuries to my hands no biggie just blood letting, but it led up to 2 big lacerations on my right index finger. Had to have a fiberglass thread from a grinding disc removed from my eye. I didn’t get **** all done in the shop except a new dipstick and a little racetrack bracket for the throttle cable.
