'79 K20 Minor Mods. 203 is out.

I have both good and bad news tonight. Good news is I got my stuff from lmc today.Got locking hubs, the big thick rubber floor mat, poly body mounts, parking brake cable and a few other misc. parts. Got the locking hubs put on. I bagged up the drive slugs, and threw them on the shelf. Clearanced some things and got the clutch master bolted up. Hooked it up inside the cab and pressed the pedal..and nothing. Frozen solid. Guess I need either a new master or slave.

And this silver dollar sized SOB was close enough to my face I could have kissed it.

It needs something. I had a nice set of 2500 hd wheels and center caps. Wheels got stolen but I still have the centers, they might look kinda funny on ford rims though.

Had some real nice weather today, got a bit done. Both drive shafts are off, torque converter bolts off, 2 or the 4 cabs mounts loose. A few other small things. Also broke a bolt in the 14b yoke that holds the straps for the drive shaft. And 2 of the 4 nuts holding the cross member on are rounded, guess I'll cut them off.

Made some real progress today. Got the 400 and 203 dropped. Made a hell of a mess in the process. Didn't lose any tools or fingers, so that's a win. Resealed the 465 and 208. New input and output shaft seals, sealed pto covers and put on some paint. Got some furniture dollies from tsc.

I thought what we would have what I call a "controlled drop" but it actually came down real easy. Aside from the mess.

And there she sits.Gonna put it on cl for 200 bucks and see if I can get rid of it.

So now I can do fun things like bolt up cool parts. But apparently I have the wrong cool parts. The donor flywheel has a different bolt pattern than my 79 motor. After staring at it a few different ways and measuring it's def. not gonna work. I turn to my garage stash and the 350 sbc that came out of the firebird, as it is from a mid seventies truck. No good, it's like a tiny 10" or something.

So if anybody knows what parts I need to attach an 86 hydro bell housing to a 79 motor I'd love to hear from you.

The flywheel won't bolt up or the bell housing won't bolt up? Your posts make it a little confusing. If its the '86 flywheel tha won't work, get a flywheel for a '79.
