Got the 465 in yesterday. What a pain in the ass. Found out I had the wrong cross member, the flat one is several inches short. Picked up a proper one tonight. Going to do that this weekend as well as connecting the clutch slave and drilling out that yoke.

Now you need some 37's. Those are 16.5's right?
Yeah they will fit. You will have to do a little trimming if you plan to offroad it. I have 37's on my truck with a 4" lift and 1" zero rates and very minimal trimming to the front fenders only. If you have 16.5" wheels, you can get the 37" military take off tires for ~ $150 each.
I had 37's on my Suburban with factory springs. A 1" zero rate on a three pack of springs in the front, 2" lift blocks in the rear, and a 1" body lift. A 4" lift will be fine with some trimming.
Oh, and I am a fan of the stock steel wheels and hub caps as well.

37's sound real tempting but Id rather not cut my pristine fenders. I finally put the door back on today. Got the new W shaped cross member in as well. Most of the day was eaten up by driving an hour north too look at a newer tahoe for the wife. I love the newer ls motors, that tahoe with a 5.3, driving that is cross between driving a race car and floating on a cloud.

Not much happened this week. We picked up the 03 tahoe wed or thursday which ate up a whole evening. Cross member in, both drive shafts in. New u joints in both drives shafts. I almost screwed one up, needle bearing fell out as I was beating it on. I hate u joints.
simple trick for ujoints to not drop needles if there NON life series spicers is this .
1 pump of grease in each cap and then take finger and push grease in to needle bearings . holds them in the caps perfectly .

ya that would have been good to know yesterday. Next time I'll do it. Edit: didn't want to admit it, but I broke a few. Took some out of the old cap (which somehow also spilled all over the ground.)

ya the grease trick keeps them upright also when tapping the cap home .
some day when I got a few min extra I am going to do a nice pic / pic or video of a super easy way to do them every time.

There is a trick to it but i dont remember what it is. I think its to unbolt the slave cylinder and work it down there.
