'79 K20 Minor Mods. 203 is out.

Yup what he said ^^^
Work the slave cylinder by hand to free up the air trapped inside it.

Or use a vacuum pump on the small hole in the cap of the reservoir (with the rubber diaphragm removed).

It moves. Got the clutch bled, I think. Seems like it engages a little low to the floor. That stupid thing was a pita to bleed. Put a seat and steering column loosely in and went back and forth a few feet.
Very cool

What a day. Got the steering column back in, seat in, fluids topped off, went around and made sure everything I had touched in the last 5 months was tight. I'm ready to see how it drives.
I don't have the floor hump in yet because I've not cut it for the 465 or 208 shifters. NO floor on passenger side. probably lots of little things I am forgetting. Forgot to hook up the ground on my tach which is kinda somewhat important. No speedo either, but I have a phone app for that.

So off myself and a co-driver go, gas gauge is sitting on E, so first stop is the gas station.

I ease of out the driveway

And THIS SOB IS THE LOUDEST POS I HAVE EVER HEARD!
WHAT?
IT'S LOUD! WTH IS THAT NOISE
HUH?

And this damn thing is slow. What the hell.

Get to the gas station, fill er up and notice the gauge doesn't move. It worked before, gotta fix that. Probably something in the cluster or connector since a couple of lights are not working either.

Then we talk since the truck is stopped and we can finally hear. Figure out the front drive shaft is spinning and it probably should not be. Remember I don't have the tcase shifter in.
Figure out it's in 4 low. Fiddle with the linkage, try again.
Do circles around gas station parking lot, it's in 2hi now.

But..I cannot seem to find either low or first gear, like at all. So I've only got 2 forward gears, which makes driving interesting.

Found out a friend of a friend is parting out a truck I thought he was building. Stopped by and looked at the remains. It's an 83ish 2wd half ton with a straight 6 and an auto trans. Really nothing I am interested in. Picked up a rust free door for $20. I'll get a pic of that later.

Asked the kid what happened to the bed, he already sold it. For $50. I damn near shat.

At least I got a nice door.

Lo or 1st isn't synchronized so you need to double clutch to get into that gear.

Probably need to bleed the clutch again. You should be able to get in to first gear no problem then go into low from first. Did you try it after moving slowly forward?

What I mean to say is while you are slowly rolling forward, would it go into first? Any grinding?

No grinding at all. Can't find either gear from a stand still or a roll.

Did you mod your shifter? I had that problem when I welded mine and had to grind some of the weld off. If you haven't look it up, it makes it feel much nicer.

I did fix the broken welds. And there is a tiny bit on the cup. Was wondering if that might be an issue. I'll check it tonight

Yep, that would be your problem most likely. If you weld the very tip where the brass piece sits in the shifter and its all wobbly, you will love the difference.

I hope that is it. It's such a tiny amount, I'll get a pic.
Are you also saying to weld the very tip to the shifter? I was torn between that and putting a larger drift pin in.

Yep. Like this...
