79 K30 crew cab

Modern-ish drivetrain and creature comforts
Well that's your experience. Mine is different.
I think it's perception.
I feel most v8 engines are good enough for my needs and yet I keep hearing people saying how they are turds and they want them bigger and stronger.
I get it, I drive a big rig now and I wouldn't go back to a pickup truck.
I even took my big rig with an 18' car trailer with the k5 to bb18.
But I still feel BBC is an impressive engine for a pickup truck.

I would agree that it’s perception and what you’re used to.
Going from a four banger a small block feels incredibly.
Going from a small block to stock big block is a jump. Then to a tuned big block.
Then to a tuned turbo diesel.

It just depends on where you’re at in the progression chart and what your doing as to how powerful or weak something feels at to you.

A tuned td isn't shit compared to the torque of an actual tractor...

:deal: ain't no ram out there can pull a 9 shank chisel through the field... Eh..

I know :pimp:
I tell you when I first got my first tractor, and it was the small block 12 litre engine I was literally slammed in my seat when I bobtailed and mashed the pedal. These trucks have 1600-1900lbs of tq.
I still can appreciate any good engine because I grew up driving 4 bangers for 30 years until I bought my first Chevy.

Sorry to hear about the brother in law, must be somewhat of a ok guy if you bailed him out like that.

I agree with the diesel debate...I wouldn`t drive anything with a gas engine for a DD or tow rig. Even Our car is a TDI :D

I didn’t bail him out so much as bailed the rest of the family out .

Patty’s Dad Died from Colon Cancer about 8 years ago , as usually happens it wiped them out financially to the point that all they have left is the ranch which has litterally been in the family since the 1880’s

Patty’s brother is your typical broke dick cowpoke . he never has more then a few hundred bucks at a time . Mom pays all his bills , and he punches cows .

Patty’s Sister , (married to the dip shit that got behind in taxes ) made a deal with the Mom and Patty and the Brother to move onto the place with their 3-kids with the only stipulation being they pay the Taxes . ( they don’t even pay for their own electric )

Patty’s Mom works for University of New Mexico as a facilities manger , Decent job for New Mexico but only about 44,000 a year .

Her Dad was a truck driver and equipment operator , never made more then about 16-18.00 and hour , most of his income came from cows .

Anyways , back to the dipshit . We have had to bail this dumb mother ****er out countless times over the years . 500.00 here , 1000.00 there . To cover basic needs like propane , school clothes , etc . With never a dime back from him .

Not sure what I’m going to do about this . That money was out emergency fund and concrete for the shop .

Nice situation! Sounds like he needs to have a accident with a rank bull.

Shitty situation, sounds a lot like my girlfriends brother.

Will you end up with some rights to the place? I'm sure it's a whole different world there, but that amount of money isnt much spread out over two years if kept up with, and this shouldn't have to fall on you.

I wish I could help.

We own a third , It’s setup in a trust though so At least neither Patty’s brother or sister can borrow money against the place .

It’s kinda a mess really it’s just a liability for us at this point . We are basically supporting them from up here . I still own my house and shop down there as well , which actually borders their place on two sides .

We will be ok it was just a kick in the teeth money wise that I wasn’t planning for . And it’s money I will most likely never get back.

No , it was a handshake agreement between the kids and mom . Nothing will come of it except that Patty’s mom (and eventually us ) will end up paying the Taxes from now on .

Like I said it’s not a blessing for us it’s a liability.

Edit: so neither myself or dipshit brother in law have any legal rights to the property . It’s purely between the 3-siblings and patty’s mom.

Lots of dipshit tire kickers , no serious offers yet .

I did sell my 2012 Ram 3500 though so we are no longer in dire straits . I’m going to keep it up for another week or so and then if it doesn’t sell I will put an engine in it .

You're headed in the right direction by selling the dodge and keeping the square. 2012 dodges are pretty desirable though being the last year before they got DEF.

Yeah , a 2012 with a 6-spd . It was hard to see it go.

So , lots of tire kickers but no hard cash offers . Last night I took the ad down .

I’m had to sell a bunch of parts and couple of cool projects to get us whole again . But we are back where we before we this happened, actually better because of selling my Ram . :(

Patty found out what was going on and is pretty pissed that I had to do what I did ( not pissed at me )
.

So back to the regular schedule “build” or better known as sitting in the back yard waiting for me to fix it lol
