79 k30 front axle?

If the guy thought he needed all that bracing for the tow hitch, it is likely those axles have had a hard life.

BTW, the shock mounts on the 14BFF look like 2WD mounts to me. :dunno: Is that some bizarro hacked together franken-truck?

haha, yah, seems wierd.

They listed the pair of axles for $500. If anyone wants to go check it out, pm me, ill forward you my correspondance. If you get a deal, you buy me a beer.

rear axels are un even...offset diff, to control torque steer...thats like the rear i have outside...ferd d60hd

edit not dana pattern cover tho...scrathing head

The cover looks like a 60 to me but I cannot see the knuckles or steering arm. Do the Ford low pinion 60s have the perch cast into the case? The rear is def a 14FF with a ghetto fabulous tow hitch:D

Dik

The perch is there it is on the other side. Look closely at the first 2 pics of the front axle. It looks like a chevy 60 set up to run on the drivers side.:dunno:

Dik

Yep but not quite right on top. Looking closer at the calipers they are not 60 calipers in either ford or Chevy. They look just like GM 1/2 and 3/4 ton calipers. You can see the allen bolt holding the caliper on. I am not sure about ford but chevy calipers for 60s are hold on my a spring and a wedge.

Dik

front is a ford 44 or 60 i think i see the remains of a stock steering arm and kingpin cap. definitely not a chevy 60 turned upside down because then it would be a hi-pinion pass drop. ford 60's do use 4 ubolts.

With the calipers and the shape of the cover I would say it is a 44. One that has been pretty bastardized at that.

I am pretty sure I can see a perch on the passenger side of the case.

Dik

yea last time i looked at a ford 60 it did have inner c's like that, most likely is a 44

I would guess that its a ford D44 with some sort of strange kingpin/balljoint steering knuckle :dunno:. I would guess that truck is a 2wd with a super hack front axle swap. The location of the shackle hangers, whatever that strange steering box thing is where the box should be, weird looking engine cross member. I own a k30 and dont recognize a thing under there... Except for the car alarm horn laying near where the engine should be, that I can identify.:doah:
