Ok... maybe my brain isnt thinking straight but even with crossover steering won't the drag link still be an issue? Kinda seems like the same spot would be an issue.... I suppose you get a little more angle with the drag link aiming "up" but seems like the same potential of interference.
Nope, I have crossover and never had a single issue with it (mainly what helps is the fact it's angling down to the axle and there is a fixed point on one side of the frame...so really only time it will be somewhat close is when the passenger tire is stuffed, but even then it doesn't hit, just like a panhard bar setup on a front link system). But many have run into issues with the ram hitting the cross members at full bump/stuff. You are a little bit taller so you might not have that issue, but I think you said you want to lower it down some which might cause some issues.
All I'm saying is the costs start adding up to run high steer that to be honest with you, once again this is just my opinion, really isn't that big of a deal. Sure if you want to rock bounce this thing and hit rocks so freaking hard it's not even funny, then sure high steer is worth it, but if you plan to wheel it like normal people do, then just a beef tie rod will suffice.
In the end, do what you want and it will still be a kick a$$ rig, but we are just trying to give you a different perspective is all
. There will always be the pissing contest with tire sizes....sometimes its worth it to resist the urge to participate in the pissing contest and really look at your overall use of the truck. Really, I was just trying to find some 42's when I was looking and to this day I feel like 42's would have worked really well...but is was a $ thing that I found my 44's on such a screaming deal that I couldn't pass up on it and dealt with the changes I had to make to get them to work well on a rig with only 5" of lift. So I think the 41.5 pitbulls would look freaking sick on this thing.
