Why high steer?
Martin
because bent tie rods and damaged rams are no fun?
Correct, which I've seen first hand on more than one occasion.
Meh.

Are you going to run plastic KP bushings or bronze?
No idea on the bolt #k5problems
and I think I have the same wedding ring

Bronze.
I cant tell you how many times I've had to grind/sand/polish of welding slag off my ring. I'm surprised I havent worn all the way through it.![]()
I stopped wearing it, wife gets pissed off when she catching me wearing it in the garage. Those side diamonds catch dirt too.
@brokenparts those rear body bolts were a tremendous headache to remove on mine. I think I eventually just cut the heads off and knocked them out.
I'm surprised that you went heim joints on the steering. What was the reasoning there?
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is the consensus here that doing high steer on a D60 is more hassle than it's worth? I was planning to do it, but then I read your build thread and saw a few people saying it wasn't necessary. I think if you had a good enough spotter to help keep your tie rods off the rock you should be alright.
