79 K5 H-Bomb build

we actually tried the MSD e-curve first since he didn't buy a unit with timing control. POS coughed once and never sent another spark so it was returned.
I'm running the locked out MSD (FiTech controlled) on my truck and the El Camino. I think Holley has a locked out drop in option that works with their sniper too.

lots of options.

Been a lot of work out on the property so I haven't had a ton of time on the build but a buddy stopped by today. He built a super cool fj60... twin turbo 4bt, 4l80e, doubler, tons... and on and on and on... naturally we decided to throw my 42s on it.

My buddy asked me if I wanted help turning some wrenches... I thought "sure" maybe pull the exhaust or tranny or something simple. He had other ideas:

Next thing I knew:

More stuff happened.

Also helping getting my buddies 66 back on the road. He has had this truck sinc high school.

He had a pretty good top end for a sbc but no bottom end so I'm donating my bottom end from sbc. While we were tearing it down another buddy noticed the motor had some dart iron eagle heads. Not great but better than smog heads. These would be great for a 383 build

Hoping to get back in the shop tomorrow.

well, I was a lazy sack the rest of the weekend but I did do some thinking.... anyone convert to a serp set up? I dont want fancy billet one, just a functional serp with the option of AC.

Any 4.3 - 5.7 serp belt system off any GM vehicle will work. Just find one you like. Some of them move some components around.

Eh, no kidding, I didnt think the small block stuff would be compatible with the BB stuff. Factory would be ideal.

The Kwik Perf kit is great! I have this on my motor, bolted up perfect and I think I spent $25 on the 2 brackets (4.3), power steering and water pump pulleys. You do have to buy a specific crank pulley which is about $100 new if you can't find a used one.
