80 k5 - frame off 6.0 LS swap

the stock lq4 fuel system did not include a filter on the return line either, did it? i am not plannin on using it now.

anybody know about the body bolt? its got me stressin out.
cuttin and weldin the body is gunna slow me down... a lot...

Answered my own question... Looking at this, my GUESS is that It's a floor cutting style...

They are carriage bolts and they will rust on the threads, so they spin the square hole out in the floor.
I just replace mine with washers and bolts. I did install a ORD 1" body lift. It came with bolts instead of carriage bolts.

did you have to cut your floor boards at all to get to the top of the carriage bolts? i've got a huge pile of new parts in the back of the blazer that needs to find a new home before i can pull up any carpet!

the body bolt has about a quarter twist of freedom... you can move it back and forth, and there's a metal clanging from inside the body when you do, just like a square moving back and forth....

not full rotations, no. about a quarter rotation.

the 4th vent outlet on the fuel tank, on the newer trucks goes from fuel tank-->charcoal canister-->intake.. where did it run on the older style trucks? straight to the fuel pump?

as always, i appreciate yalls help!

The big one is the filler vent
3/8" is fuel
5/16" is return
1/4" is charcoal canister/vent
I will get a pic in the morning of the filter I used on mine for the vent.
Here is how I run mine using an '02 corvette fuel filter, with built pressure regulator.
Fuel in from tank/fuel out to the motor/return line back to tank.

1) any way to run a front sway bar with ORD high steer?
2) how about steering stablizers?
3) i've got an old electric brake controller a previous owner spliced in and hooked up under the dash..... it has a hard line that runs to a T into the brake booster? do i need to drain all brake fluid from this to remove this line? should i just leave it?

ordered up enough silicone intake stainless braided pfte fuel line to do my fuel line and the return.

bought an air compressor so i can use my air hammer to destroy stock engine cross member rivets.

and put up the light bar on top just for some motivation.

still gotta figure out that body bolt. sprayed it up with wd40 today. gunna mess with it more later.

after the one inch body lift, frame painting is next, followed by engine installation.

i've bought a bunch of tools just for this swap. my tool budget is about a grand, including the engine stand, cherry picker, transmission jack, air compressor, air drill, etc.
i finally got em all out. used an electric grinder, ground off the heads, took my air drill and drilled out the center, and then took an air hammer and finally knocked em out.

rivets are pretty ****in tough man. i had all four heads completely ground off, and i was still lifting the entire truck by the engine cross member with a hydraulic floor jack. crazy.

also, engine cross member is out, and so are my body bolts. the bolts started to rotate freely as they came out, freaked me out, but it was fine. just kept turnin em and they dropped out.
gunna get my body lift on, and the frame painted, then installation starts!

hey, does anybody know where to get the right half of an evac case?
i've got the left half already, brand new, the half that holds the blower motor, but i'm tryin to find the rest of it, the half that bolts over top the AC condensor. any links?

That's the same method I'm using, but my air hammer is to weak so I swing a mini sledge.

i find the right tools make things go quicker and easier but are far more expesive to replace when you get pissed and throw an impact gun as hard as you can on the concrete floor. i'll stick with sockets and a breaker bar. me n technology don't really like eachother

and remember swearing never got a bolt unstuck but it makes you feel better
