Steering reservoir bolted on. Have yet to do the plumbing.

I've only had the hydro boost brakes fail me once. That was actually more steering related.

Blew a line in a densely populated urban area pulling a heavy load. Brake assist of course, went along with the steering. The next 40 minutes were pretty intense.

At least with the vacuum boost, the two systems are separate.
 
do you need a vacuum pump for that? I thought diesel's didn't make enough constant vacuum to run Vac boost:dunno: just what I was told when I asked why my 6.2 had hydro
 
First gen dodge trucks had vacuum boosters. The engine has a vacuum pump between the timing case and the power steering pump.

Which, from what I understand is a pretty good pump for producing braking vaccum. Different than what you get from a gas engine.
 
2nd gen Dodges had it too and yes it works just fine... my '94 2nd gen 12 valve had vacuum brakes.
 
ah... that makes it easy:waytogo: just wondered... carry on with the tank... I mean TRUCK build:D
