I can't seem to find it in a straight aluminum.
I guess we're gona go ahead and finish up some plumbing and light the candle.
Seems the guys got a little disheartened when I decided it didn't need to be fired up.
Tomorrow we should have the power steering plumbed in. Don't need it to start obviously but because the pump on the cummins is gear drivern, there is no real way to stop it from turning and without fluid would most likely damage the pump.
We won't be running it long enough to generate much heat so I probably won't spend much time on getting the radiator involved unless I happen to run across some hoses that are an excellent fit that I would have used on a permanent basis.
We'll have to jump forward to battery installation and getting some rudimentary electrical in place. Gotta love that about the 12v cummins diesel. Two wires and a third on a button and we're running.
Most everything else is ready to go.

Nice! Hearing it breath is always good for momentum!
Power steering plumbing is complete save one fitting. Seems 45* street elbows aren't as common as they used to be. Should be able to score one over the weekend.
Got the fuel lines ready for a fuel can.

We got completely bombed over the weekend and have been struggling to keep up. Long days both yesterday and today, we are hanging in there though. Hopefully tomorrow we will start to get back ahead of it.

For now the plan is to stack the batteries. Haven't seen them mounted in that exact fashion before. Don't really no any reason why it would matter. I'll probably do a bit of rubber sheeting between the batteries to keep them from abrading at each other. With this arrangement, the cables between posts are super short and pretty clean as far as the installation goes.
Not mounting the batteries just yet but might as well put them together for the engine start up tomorrow.

A guy I found online. Can't remember the name of the place off the top of my head.
Now I can pull the shift rails out and set it up for split shifts and put some neutral safeties on it. Probably switch the vent out for a barb fitting while I'm there.

Seems like a stack rack would be better? No?
I am not familiar with batteries venting but with conventional lead acid batteries wouldn't you need to leave room for venting of the gasses.

there should be a small port on the top somewhere for venting, I agree with Eric, that should be able to breathe.
Even the AGM batteries have the breather port on them.

Yep, gotta be able to vent but I don't think you can make an airtight seal between the two without trying pretty hard.
With these batteries, the caps themselves allow the breathing or venting and their is a nice channel all the way around the caps.
Had considered building a rack originally but really can't see any reason they can't sit directly on one another. No rack saves space, time and money.
It will be a while before I start mounting them into the bed of the truck so if one of you guys comes up with a reason its a bad idea, you be sure and let me know.
