Ya I'm not sure how many years GM used this color but mine is a 2000 Tahoe. I think if you added a little more flake it'd really make it pop!

That's pretty close to what I'm looking for. Even just a hair darker. Bottom of mine will have a bit of bedliner on it to keep the rock chips away.

Got the radiator core support set in place tonight.

Got a lot of work I can do now. Finish up all the body mounts, I can mock up the intercooler, radiators and such. Cage work can continue.

So much to do!

I'll probably end up staring at a paint chip book for a couple evenings to make my decision.

Got some time to think about that though. Every once in a while, a brighter color will flash in to my mind. Like a hugger orange or something like that. And still, once in a while, i'll try to picture it in a khaki color.

Yep, I figure if the body just hovers over the frame there'll be less vibration!

Had to set it up this way so I could visualize some options for mounting the core support. Currently the bolt holes for the body mounts are right above the frame rails rather than off to the side like our old Chevy's usually are. Which was expected of course. This is the second of the two major drawbacks to not narrowing the front of the frame rails.

I haven't slid the body mounts between the core support and frame yet. Got a couple different options though.

Hope to be able to spend some time on this sort of thing this weekend.

Start with one of these,

smash it a couple times,

roll the ends and tack,

weld and clean up,

add one of these,

rinse and repeat,

apply to frame with generous amounts of weld mixed in,
