80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

they are a little bit bigger and deeper than the factory headlights. As close as I have been able to find.

Would you mind sharing the partner for that light?

The ones we purchased for the my Suburban and Kelly's Power Wagon were the "Truck-Lite" LED's, expensive but incredibly bright and DOT approved.
I'm not sure if they have lights for the 4 lamp setup you are working with??

We have standard 2 lamps systems only hers are the round version.

They just plug into the factory 3 prong plug. No mods required to the wiring or the buckets.

Your light choice looks as if they will be like the sun when powered...???

They are bright as hell and very focused. Maybe even a little to tightly focused. I'm kinda on the fence about using them, simply due to replacement availability.

I've been searching for LED headlights since I started this build and unfortunately, as far as I can tell, there isn't a drop in light. The factory bucket for these will not work. A whole new mounting system is gona be required.

I assume you will want to stick with the 4 lamp system?

If you wanted to check these out I'll add the link.

Truck-Lite (27450C) Headlamp

These have both the high and low beam in the same sealed unit.
Good luck with the search.
I'll keep checking on your progress:D

That's an even larger one.

The one I had posted earlier has a low and high beam in each as well. Which is really, some LED's and all the LED's.

Got some LED 6" oval turn signals coming in tomorrow. That'll help the front end progress move forward.

Really having trouble getting to a grill design that I like. Maybe its seeing it on the screen. Things always look better in your hand or on the truck as opposed to a screen.

Kert that size light is oddball. I have looked and even called companies. It's not a common size not even uncommon it's rare.

Hence one of the reasons I am doing a 73 front clip on my 86. Easy to find all sorts of headlight for the insanely commen 7" round

Yep, I've come to the same conclusion. The headlights I picked up fit a lot of different vehicles. Might have to do some calling around and see if they have headlight buckets like our trucks do. Maybe I can transplant the larger bucket into the clip.

I'm far enough along that I don't want to ditch the clip. I could however, put in the round light and bucket.

Making my own grill anyway. That's where I'm hung up on the look. Just not working for me yet.

I will see if I can find it but a guy did the larger lights and trimmed the bezel really nice. I think he had to mod the whole support though to fit the larger lights.

I will see if I can find it

the round lights look better in the old sheet metal I think, because of the body lines it had and steeper hood face. Don't know that I've ever seen round in a newer model to know if it could look right.....

I have know doubt that if it can be done, kert can figure it out. the last 2 trucks were sweet and this one looks like it's been thought about and planned for a WHILE. :waytogo: Cant wait to see the finished product.

I did go back and look at your K5 ryoken:thumb: I thought I might have seen it done and remembered yours:D

Have you ever seen when someone swaps the 88-94 NBS headlight assemblies into the 88-91 core support? I've seen pics and it looked clean, just can't remember where I saw them.

Doesn't that look basically like the 89-91 quad light grille only more rounded instead of flat from side to side?
