80's short box, "S.E.R.E." Box permanently attached to the cab.

for me it's the serviceability as opposed to changing out expensive stalks from columns.... I specifically got a "turn only" column for the K5 and foot dimmer...

not to mention it was always a fun way to do it as a teen... "BEAM ME???? TAKE THIS!!!!!! *STOMP*" :haha:

Hahahahaha. :thumb: :rotfl:

I will confess to being disappointed that my '84 did not come with the stomp switch like my '83 has.

Much more fire prone, as column stalks dont have wet boots stomping on them. That being said, what Ryoken mentioned is true, like slamming a corded phone down after an irritating phone call. Its like therapy.

Man, the things we don't get to do anymore... :doah:

:haha:

The other day my dad was over and I asked him what that floor thing was and he looked at me crazy and said it was to flash high beams. The 85 didnt have it but the new 73 did. I felt dumb but then again its wayyyyy before my time. I wouldnt mind hooking a light bar up to it haha.

You can't be much younger than I am (I'm younger than my truck), and I've driven numerous vehicles with stomp switches.

Guess you must have grown up with newer vehicles than I did. :dunno:

Most of my experience is with vehicles from the 90s. In other words junk lol.

I do remember seeing them in the corvettes my dad has had.

The 73 is the oldest thing I've owned. With our gas prices and how much we drive it never made sense to drive something old and cool. Now things have changed a bit.

Hey, the 90s weren't junk! After all, they had...umm...umm...well, I'm sure they had SOMETHING worth driving. :pimp:

:haha::haha:

It's bolted to the floor board now. Hope I got it in a good spot. Don't have seats in it yet, hard to get a feel for its location. Especially around the cage tubing.

campfire, to answer that, i'll post this.

I believe its further to the right and slightly higher than it would normally be but necessary around the cage. I rigged up a pedestal to sit on and could reach it but not quite the same as sitting on an actual seat. Probably about time to get some seats in it.

You posted an actual post! :haha:

Yeah, that looks too far forward. I would expect it to be about where the right-hand weld is. Looks painful to get to, wedged between the cage and the pedal.

I assume you're able to reach it with your foot without hitting the cage?

Due to some at the time unknown PO modifications, it melted down. Who needs fuses when it can be directly wired?

I can but hard to say how comfortably it can be reached until I got a seat in there. Worst case scenario, I got two holes to weld shut. Not a huge deal.

That all being said, I think I have my PRP seats picked out with what options I want. Probably order them up this week. Plan to install 3 seats.
