82 K5-Texas4x4rebels. Thinking about parting out the K5

Went and picked up the m1008 today got there and found out it had been used at a fire dept in Oklahoma it runs but has no batteries or glow plug card.
So the parting out will start soon. It looks like a drunk blind guy did the paint job on it.

Nice Find. What was the cost if you don't mind me asking.

Yup 1500 was the price hope fully this week I can get the trans and transfer case out and get the motor ready to pull the Odometer reads 13XXX miles and the engine ran like a champ.

If any body is interested in the 6.2 shoot me a pm cause as soon as I pull it its going on craigslist and maybe ebay.

Well the trucks been sitting for like three weeks do to the last time I drove it it set miss fire and lean codes the fuel pump changed noises and got really loud. So First thing I did was pull apart my fuel filter and the screen was blocked with brown crap I guess all the stuff that was in the pickup sock in the tank got sucked out and was in the filter. I have replaced the sock in the tank when I did the fuel level sensor. I took my filter and cleaned it out then I went to pulling the injectors out when I took the pcv pipe off I found that it was broken in half and cracked in two spots never noticed it before because it has a sleeve on it, found the reason for the lean codes. So I pulled my injectors out of my dd same motor and put them on the blazer test drove it no lean codes but still missing on number 2. Pulled the plug wire off my dd and stuck it on the blazer test drove and no more miss. Also now my fuel filter barely makes and noise at all sounds like a in the tank pump and I picked up 10 psi fuel pressure. So I need to get some plugs and wires oh and some money so I can get my one tons installed.

I like your K5!!! I am in the process of putting a LQ9 in my M1009. I am glad I found your thread as I was worried about the front crossmember and I didn't want to move my trans either. I am going to try and put a EFI sending unit and a 96 vortec pump in mine so we will see how that fits. How does the 5.3 do in the blazer? Here is a few pics of mine.

The 5.3 is great I love the fuel injection finally got the small kinks worked out and its even better then when I first got it running.

What size lift and tires are you running are you using spacers with the h1s I gonna be making some changes to my lift my springs are sagging bad on the left side about a inch or inch and a half compared to the right.

The lift is a set of 4" springs in the front with a 1" zero rate and 4" blocks and a zero rate in the back. I need to get a shackle flip for the back and do away with the 4" block soon. I have the 2" spacers front and back. The tires with the 12 bolts are the H1 MT's ( 37x12.50) and the ones on the 8 bolts are 38" TSL's.

I originally was thinking about the 5.3 but these axles kill a lot of HP and I am afraid the 5.3 will not make me happy. The 6.2 will not even turn the tires over in 4high so I am hoping a cammed LQ9 will:D Good luck with your lift situation, I need to do a little trimming on mine with the 38's.

im planing a lq4 swap, just a low compression version of the lq9 but half the price, i was a little if'y on a 5.3l also i didnt care how it acted in my dads lifted sierra so i figured id go with a 6.0L.

if you want to see some rowdy little 2wd square body chevys go to 67-72chevytrucks. i forget the name but a guy over there swaped a 6.2L ls3 from camaro i believe and that truck was just rediculous, haha lots of good info on the ls swaps

That looks pretty close to where mine is take that accessory bracket off it will help when you finish dropping it in. What headers are those?

Do you still have the 3.08 gears mine is still stock gears I have a 60/14 waiting to be pulled from a m1008 with 4.56 just need some time and money to get them in the blaze. The 350 def had problems turning the 39s the 5.3 has made a big difference.

It is in there, I just put the acc bracket on there to see if there was any issues. I am waiting on my motor mount plates to get it set on the mounts. Those are Mac Mid's for a 98-02 fbody, they are the most universal header you can buy. The driver side went right in and the passenger side just needs a little removed from the frame and motor mount stand.

I have the running gear from a 1008 under mine:D That is why I said they kill a lot of hp. Those axle's are huge and probably kill 30-50hp easy.
