83/09 4bt K5 (BB2016)

LOL big block to running 4bt in one post. That swap would usually at least a couple hundred post thread around here, half of which is waffling on whether to do it or not.:haha:

I did it by myself in 3 days, i really did feel bad about not posting more, but i feel like the motor mounts setup right now would make some people cry :haha:

still some little things to work out, going to turn up the pump and put a 3k rev spring in it, its out of a breadvan and so far top speed is 62mph. going down hill.

A cowl hood would be killer but that means you have to redo the metal work for the '09 front end

I could just get a fiberglass cowl and put on it, but realistically i should probably just replace the whole body haha, but the frame isnt much good either :doah: so if i went that far i would just take my drivetrain and axles and build something else. Probably a short tube bed crew cab.

Oh, and i finally got around to wiring in the lights, just dims for now but a lot brighter than what i had before.

Took it muddin a little after all the rain we have had, forgot how nice it was to have a diesel and use almost no fuel. Ignore the person in the passenger seat.

A cool picture of the front of it, still need to get a bumper made.

Also need to get a bumper made for the back, and the tailgate painted, meh. the picture is taken at a terrible angle too, it doesnt sit straight, but it looks a lot worse in this picture.

Then bought this pickup for $400, has a decent running 400 in it and a 14 bolt with a locker.

Should i put the 14 bolt in the blazer? Or put one of my Dana 70s with a locker in the blazer? :dunno: The Dana 70s are 2 inches wider so they would match the width of the front end, but i would need to move the spring pads, i'll probably build a shackle flip at the same time and get rid of the blocks in the back.

aaaand a picture of me standing by my other flat black pile of crap at a no-prep race.

Madison County. That was a bit of a drive for a rust bucket.

you have no idea... Shaggy went with me and we took a long trailer and got two pickups. It ended up being a 2 day trip when the duramax went in to limp mode...:haha:

Put the lightbar in, put it behind the grill so you cant see it when its off so that Martin wont make fun of me and maybe let me go wheeling with him eventually.

Were you thinking about coming up to Fullerton? I am not sure about the weather?

yea, i dont know about the weather either, i need to build a different bar for my crossover steering first, and a back bumper. i should do that tomorrow.

Had a set of rocker switches laying around and will use one for the light bar, one for the electric fans and not sure on the other one, they just happen to fit perfect in the ashtray hole though.

started building the back bumper, 3x5 and 1/4'' thick, probably overkill, will eventually get the spare tire carrier mounted, not before this weekend though. should i mount it on the right side or centered?

Also got a free set of boggers on beadlocks (to borrow) tires are about shot and only 37s but still should be decent in the mud, hopefully going to get a set of taller ones tomorrow to buy

What's wrong with your taillights?

they are taillights out of a trailer, i welded sheet metal in and then cut a hole out for them, if i hit something they just push into the rubber instead of breaking. i hit stuff a lot. :woot:

I got bored again...

So i decided it was time to put the 14 bolt with the detroit locker in the back, and i thought i might as well swap in some new leaf springs, im swapping in leaf springs out of a 2003 gmc Savana 1 ton van, they are about 60 inches long. moved the front spring brack forward by rotating it on the upper rivot.

then made a rear spring hanger, it will use the stock van shackles, which are about an inch longer than the blazer ones.
