Never knew about putting some rubber under the mount. That would help.

Did you already order a shackle flip?
As clean as that truck looks, a 1" body lift would probably be easy to install.

Yeah the shackle flip looks like it shipped out today per the invoice from ORD. I went ORD simply for the fact that I already had a leftover set of Heavy duty 4" shackles sitting at home from a previous truck.
Should also have a few other little odds and ends at the house when I get back later.
I'm up in the air on the 1" body lift...is there any negatives about doing that?

Well, I'm not real hard to convince... Did a little looking into the ORD 1" body lift and what everyone had to say about it, went ahead and called them back and had them throw that and the body mounts into my order since the second half still hadn't shipped yet. Figured if I want to clear 38" meats the extra inch won't hurt, not to mention give the gas tank a little space and allow me some room when I'm under the rig working.
I like it. Just got done with the k5 tank myself. Still have yet to decide how I'm going to fill up lol.

I started to cut out a fuel door and graft it into the rear fender but decided just running it up into the bed is clean enough. Then I'll just smooth the fuel doors off at a later time.
I just hogged a hole in the bed for now. My plan was to fab a sheet metal box with a marine style filler neck/cap. One of these days I'll get to that.

Still waiting on parts, my weekend plans fell through so I went ahead and grabbed a pair of 6x9's and some 6.5"s since they were half off via alpine. Got the 6x9's installed, they were slightly bigger on the magnet end than the brackets would allow because I had a hard time getting them to fit just right where the magnet wouldn't stick to the cab.
I have a kenwood 400w marine/Bluetooth amp coming I'll hide behind the glove box and just run from the iPhone, no deck to mess with. You see a lot of these on boats and side by sides.
Also slapped me a decal on here just for grins, there's one for the other front fender also.
Parts should be here tomorrow and through Wednesday. Next weekend I'll have a lot more suspension progress and hopefully the bed back on.

Put the seat back in and let the "co-pilot" give the final approval.

I started to put the 6.5's in the doors, but after a lot of reading I saw too many guys complaining about doing them that way. Also, kick panels were out of the cards because I wasn't going to keep burning money on some thing that I said I wasn't in desperate need of anyhow.
So then this happens...admittedly, a tad redneck...and if there's a passenger they will likely get an earful, but i think it'll do... Besides, I don't really need a glove box at the moment.

No choice. The Ac/heat vent stuff takes up the room on the left side of the glove box compartment. The magnet on the back of the speaker would have hit if it was any more to the left side
I meant having both speakers on the right side of the truck.

I agree, if it doesn't sound worth a damn I'll come up with some thing else. Just trying to avoid having to put them down low in the kick panels or have them rattling around on the doors.
I'm not really all that picky in this truck, it's old and has rust holes, I have a 2014 with Bose that sounds better than a lot of guys aftermarket setups that I pay for every month, I'll stick with it for sound quality.

Im keeping that up for consideration too. I can always put the 6.5's in something else.
Side note: brown Santa should have some goodies for me today and tomorrow. Ready to make some progress and get the bed back on this thing.

I just put a truck box with a sub, two 6x9's, and two new 3.5's in my truck. It's loud.

Tuesday evening I wired the kenwood amp setup in and tapped into the proper fuse terminals. The radio actually sounds awesome, sitting in the driver seat you really don't notice any out of balance sound with the two speakers on one side, I was a bit surprised. For the time being ill let it ride.
Most of my ORD stuff showed up Tuesday also, the twin sticks, body lift, body mounts, FUSH and brake lines should be here tomorrow. Sorry I know everyone likes pics but I'll try to get some up as progress goes on Saturday and Sunday. After this weekend all I will be lacking should be the DIY inboard setup, shifter knobs and then some new meats.

Managed some good progress over this past weekend with the old man.
-Got the rear shackle flip, u bolt reversal, zero rates and all new poly bushings in.
-On the cab I replaced all the body mounts and installed the ORD 1" body lift, Ill admit it does add a lot more room under the truck than I had imagined. Also, I finished wiring up the radio, It sounds awesome luckily.
-The next day we tackled the front. ORD FUSH kit was a much needed addition as youll see in some of the pictures. The spring bolt had worn out the bushing in the frame and the spring was riding on the frame. After that we also installed all new bushings and the front zero rates pushing the axle 1" forward with that. Crossover steering and a steering brace kit to round it all out.
Today the DIY shock inboarding crossmember should be here and in the next few days I should be able to get the shocks done, put the bed back on and add the extended brake lines I didn't get to last weekend. Ready to get this thing back on the road and locate some new treads. Enjoy!
Also found this on one rear spring, so I pulled the same leaf on the other side. Hopefully it wont kill anything.
So far the only thing I see that's going to be an issue is that the front shaft will need lengthening.
