'83 K5 6.2L Diesel 64" rear springs. 3/4 ton axles. rear discs. Boring but works!

Any leads on a bw1354 manual shift tcase for a 95 mazda/ranger and the shifter and linkage? I need to call my local salvage yard and see what they have. My electric shift one split the rear case and its stuck in 2 wd low some how.
Do a :burnout:.

And film it

Finally got around to installing the jump seat I got from @ktmoutfront . It was pretty easy. I pulled both front seats. I sure love rust free trucks, all the seat bolts came out with very little effort. I pulled the center console set the new seat in. It fit perfectly and I just drilled four 3/8" holes and bolted it down with doubled up fender washers on top and bottom. It clears the shifter in four low but I should have clearanced the bottom of the cupholder a little but I didn't feel like taking it back apart. It should fit a short kid no problem. I hate losing more storage room up front but I guess I'll just have to deal with it. I might look for some bigger storage pockets for the doors. We get some at work that might be an option. I do need to get seat covers for all my seats next.

Sorry if you have posted it already, but what did that seat come out of?

2003 base model truck.

It looks like the red headed step child of the other seats.

Glad it worked.
Yeah it fits pretty good other than the cupholder interference but I could have left the cupholder off and totally solved that other than I kinda like to have cupholders. It will look good once I get seat covers for all the seats so they match.

New to me parts. Snagged these and some 4" lift blocks I don't need for $90 bucks From a guy about half hour away. The 11411 says they are 4" lift front springs from Pro Comp. Not sure what the 10771 and 10293 mean. Also I think the end with the second leaf that kinda wraps under the eye goes to the front? These should get the front of my blazer down where I want it and flexing better going from 3 leaves to 5 I hope.

KIMG0626.jpg KIMG0627.jpg KIMG0628.jpg oh and this followed my wife home today. Maybe it will get some all terrains but that will be about it. KIMG0629.jpg

Currently I have an 8 lug 10 bolt front axle. It has 4.10 gears. I did new bearings, races, rotors, pads, warn premium hubs and calipers a few thousand miles ago. I have a flat top knuckle D44 that is also 8 lug with 4.10 gears. It is tore down to just the housing with the diff still installed. It will need ball joints and everything I already did on the 10 bolt. Can any of the stuff from the ten bolt swap over? The only reason to swap is to get the knuckle machined and go to crossover steering. I think the knuckle would work on my 10 bolt(not 100% sure). Should I build the D44 and get the knuckle machined and swap the whole axle and sell the 10 bolt? or can I pillage the 10 bolt for parts? or just machine the knuckle and install it on my 10 bolt? oh and I will be swapping springs so the axle will be unbolted anyway. Thanks

My brain is old, so I don't always remember well but I thought the knuckles were swappable between the 10s and 44s...

^^^^ what they said. The 10b is plenty strong, but you can't build it like a D44. If you never plane to go to a D60, then build the D44 using the fresh bearings and etc. from the 10B. If you're going 60 in the future, go the creepiest and easiest route.

And since you're pulling the axle to change the springs, I'd go the d44 route and rob the 10b of parts.

I would be tempted to build the D44 how I wanted to, swap then sell the whole 10 bolt. Maybe swap some brake parts??
It would depend on what you could get for cash out of the old axle.

I would like to go to a 60 or even a 14 bolt front eventually but I can run my 10 bolt or 44 for a while I'm sure with my gutless 6.2l.

If everything from the knuckles out would swap over from my 10 bolt to the 44 then I would do it but since it's not much stronger I'm not sure I should spend money on it.

Yep, don't expect the 44 to be any stronger than the 10b. In fact, the stock axle shafts on the 44 are actually smaller in diameter than the 10b stock axle shafts. But like bent72 said, the mods from the aftermarket are endless for the 44. Not so much for the 10b (just try to look for a diff cover and you'll see what I mean).

And going off memory when I ran 10b axles, the 44 and the 10 shared all the same parts from the knuckles out ( in GM vehicles ). I robed a 8 lug 44 once to 8 lug my 10 bolt because I need 4.10 gears. The 44 was 3.73.
